  1. To be fair, the guys he signed aren't really going to block guys like Barger, Orelvis, etc. The Davis Schneider thing is very odd though, but if he continues to rake, you have to think he'll eventually steal ABs away from KK/Varsho/etc. Signing those guys just raised the floor.
  2. Why Gio? We already have Justin Turner who can go stand at 3rd base and provide below average defense for days. Maybe we need him to start at 3rd so we can get Voggy/Votto into the DH role daily.
  3. Bo and Vlad's s***** defense have been costing us.
  4. You'll probably never touch her either bud.
  5. You try to buy foreign brides and tried to go on 90 day fiancé - my statement stands.
  6. I mean - TB had done this religiously for the past 15 years with almost unparalleled success. Everyone can jerk Bruce Bochy off if they want. I never thought those Giants teams were any good and nobody really cared about the Rangers last year - but come playoff time, he seems to get the wins. Dusty Baker worked out in Houston, but didn't work in Washington. Tony LaRussa was a complete disaster. Buck Showalter? Mixed results - s*** in Baltimore, then 1 great year in NY, followed by a disaster. Christ - most people hate Dave Roberts in LA too....Pretty inconsistent results.
  7. I'm not even sure adding Ohtani would have been enough to fix this offense. Bo and Ohtani can't carry a team that's rolling out the ghost of George Springer, overrated Vlad and the cast of useless ****s like Varsho, Kirk, Biggio, IKF, KK, etc. There's a STRONG possibility that we'd still be 3-4 and have been no-hit and 1-hit and the sky would be falling if we signed Ohtani - AND we'd be stuck with that massive contract with a team headed nowhere. Thank god Atkins foresaw this disaster and aborted the mission.
  8. Can't you recognize that's exactly what they tried to do? Give up some offense to improve the defense? We still have a hit first SS on the team - whom most of you complain about every single game because he defense is s***. Most of you complain you don't want Vlad playing 1st base because he defense is s***. Everyone complained about Teo in RF, most complained about Springer in CF and his declining defense. Most people though Gurriel was a joke defensively in LF. But right now you'd jizz your pants if we had Gurriel in LF and Teo in RF. We had lots of offense first players during the Atkins era and it never took us anywhere. We still have some and people can't shut up about how bad their defense is. Bo Bichette should be the #1 fan favorite on this board right now. The guy rakes in his sleep. But most people on here seemingly don't like him because his DEF value is between 1 and 3 every year. Some of you are just miserable people. Explains why you're on a message board so much - nobody would want to be around you.
  9. Donny - "what's going on? I didn't knew he threw a changeup"
  10. I believe it was posted before the new rule was in place. Nice civilian police work though.
  11. What's sad is this doesn't open up any cap space for the Bills this year (I think it actually costs them more?). I think his run as a top WR are about the run out though. Seems the Bills know this setup isn't working. They need to retool.
  12. Vlad looks like he's trying to sabotage the team's chances. Like he's trying to force a trade.
  13. If you could choose a new team to root for over the next 10-20 years, who would it be?
  14. Any points yet on the season? LOL Maybe you should change this to which player will get a hit.
  15. The Jays are the first team since 1901 to be victimized by a no-hitter and a 1 hitter in the first 7 games of the season. Historically bad! Start the rebuild.
  16. Yeah - that pretty much sums it up for me too. This is a disastrous start. Everyone who hates everything about the Blue Jays can dunk all they want (hope it makes you feel really good). The Jays are unwatchable and this board is unreadable. This Vlad/Bo era has been super disappointing. I do love a good rebuild though. Bring it on.
  17. This team f***ing sucks. Time to look for a new team to root for!
  18. Yep - that's exactly what I said. Tampon.
  19. We've been through this about 75 times already. This offense was 7th in MLB last year in wRC+ (higher than Philly, Baltimore), even while we had pretty bad years from Vlad, Kirk, Varsho and Springer. Did we struggle to score runs last year? Yes. Is that a statistical anomaly? It may have been. Our BA with RISP started out awful last year - just dreadful luck, but it did turn around in the 2nd half and we ended up near the middle of the pack. Even if nothing really changes from last year, we probably should land between the 7th and 12th best offense in baseball (argue that's not enough all you want). People can suggest nothing has changed except a downgrade at 3rd, but player development and year to year improvement is a thing. Whether you call it a bounce back or just development, it's not unrealistic to expect Vlad, Kirk, Biggio, Varsho, etc. to simply be better than last year. We also have a full season with Davis Schneider and have other internal options at AAA that may be able to help our offense (Barger, Horwitz, Orelvis, etc.). Of course it would be great to see our baserunning improve from last year. Minor changes in philosophy could play a bit part in that. If our starters play to their potential, this is probably a Top 5-8 offense. Is it a bit of a thin line? Yeah, for sure it is. But, for a team built on pitching and defense, that should be more than sufficient to have success.
  20. Bills move Diggs for the #60 pick (2nd round). I think he's declining, but this is a bold move for the Bills.
  21. It's incredible how some of you can't just enjoy a huge Blue Jays win. You're just constantly upset over something or someone. It's unreal.
  22. That's a huge win. Jays needed it and so did this board!
