    Ohtani raised his wRC+ from 165 to 172 tonight. That is an insane change at this point in the season.

    Fast food restaurants figured it out years ago. They no longer have to be fast and cheap - they just have to be fast. Most people don't have an hour to sit in Kelsey's to order a burger and fries. Most are far too busy for that (I know I certainly am). My "go to" is a local mexican place that has incredible fresh, homemade food and they can slap together a killer burrito for me in like 1 minute. Fast, healthier, delicious and supporting a local business.

    Ohtani goes 6-6 with 3 HRs, 10 RBIs and 2 SBs to reach 50/50. It's hard to fathom how incredible that is.

    I have no interest in watching the Twins in the playoffs. I guess give me KC, as it would be good for baseball to have Bobby Witt in the playoffs - although I'm not very interested in seeing Minny, Detroit or KC in the playoffs if I'm being honest. It would also be hilarious if Baltimore fell out of the playoffs (not that I expect that to happen).

    I'd expect that if he's unable to do the same workouts he did when healthy, that he'd have to change his dietary habits to reduce the caloric intake to offset the lack of physical activity. Habits can be hard to change - especially in a lost season where he's only returning to play meaningless games. If this is a flag, it's like one of those little miniature flags they put on top of cupcakes.

    We entered the year with essentially the same bullpen we had last year - which was one of the better pen's in baseball....and it was expected to improve with a full season of Green. Unfortunately, this kind of s*** happens far too regularly in baseball. Good news is it can turn around just as quickly.

    Velo is down, but Kimbrel has rebounded in the past. He's probably a solid target if you can get him for $4M next year. I've always been a big fan of Kimbrel.

    How many PA's will it take for us to conclude that Victor Robles can sustain this success? 143 wRC+ in 261 PA's this season. Crazy, given what he's show in the majors to this point in his career.

    Has anyone been to Globe Life Stadium in Texas? It looks really interesting. I haven't heard a lot about it (being that's it's so new). Just curious.

    Shulman said there's a possibility the Varsho injury may "bleed into Spring Training next year". So that "could" mean he's ready for opening day, but it may also mean he's a little behind and may miss time early in 2025. He's have rotator cuff surgery. Jays knew of the Wagner knee issue when they traded for him. They told him he's proven enough and doesn't need to play thru it anymore. His surgery is minor and he should be good to go in 6-8 weeks.

    Might as well try him out. Stuff+ loves his slider, but hates the fastball. Good velo, good K's and good control (except for this year in AAA). Giving up way too many home runs, but maybe there's a tweak to be made to his fastball that could unlock some success.

    Yordan is a f***ing beast. He's probably the most underrated player in baseball.

    This is spot on. And we see this throughout baseball. Teams simply don't move their best prospects the way they did back in the day (when GM's didn't understand how valuable they were to the team) - especially for rentals.

    Why are you turning my very straight forward comments that Green was a top notch fireman with the Yanks into something about his current contract. You did this in another thread too - are you trying to troll and bait me or some weird s***? That said - RPers don't necessarily follow the same curve as hitters do. Yates is 37, coming off like 82 injuries/surgeries. David Robertson was the OG Chad Green in NY and he's still going strong after a couple of down years/injuries in his mid 30's. RPs are always a bit of a crap shoot - a box of chocolates. Nothing wrong with adding Chad Green to this team and I certainly wouldn't write him off as being "done".

    I'm confused. First, I suggested "I'd hate to see him nosedive and for fans to turn on him". I didn't suggest that's happened already. Second - nothing I said had anything to do with whether he was a good FA signing or not. He's one of my all-time fav players. Are you OK?
