    I think for some, playing with Vlad would be frustrating as f*ck. Dude is the worst base runners in baseball, primarily due to his low baseball IQ. He's also a horrible fielder, who admits he doesn't work on his defense in the offseason. He also doesn't seem to have any self awareness and continued that ice bath bullsh*t way too long, which seemed to piss off his teammates. Oh and he's overweight, which impacts his ability to be the best ball player he can be. I'm sure some people like his happy, life of the party spirit - but suiting up next to this guy day in and day out for 162 games may drive some players nuts.

    I mean - he could become the spokesperson/face of Rogers Communication...no need to involve another company even. Rogers could sign him to some 6 year $200M deal to do commercials :)

    To be honest, it's actually impressive that we're in the bronze position to land Roki. Most free agents currently view the Jays as about the 28th best option in baseball.

    Tough way to end what was a really fun season for the Packers and overall, a s***** weekend for the NFL so far with 4 of 5 games being blowouts.

    FWIW, I do think there's a decent chance that JDM has one last dead cat bounce in him. He could add some much needed power (unlike a guy like Turner).

    True, but $11M AAV for Hoffman makes $10M for Kittredge seem expensive.

    Like the Diamondbacks did in 2023? 3-0 sweep. GREAT teams only win a playoff series about 65% of the time.

    100%. I'd be pissed off if the team I cheered for wasn't 100% in on trying to sign Roki. The only reason you wouldn't is if you're some cheap ass team without the resources or staff to do it - which would be sad. Even if you only have a 5% chance of success - you still need to take your shot.

    This is spot on IMO. Fans are quick to blame decisions when starters are pulled early and that team loses, yet they often don't acknowledge when this strategy is successfully used.

    AA was good at rebuilding the farm system - but he also played under different rules and he exploited those rules (kudos to him) to give himself 2-3 times more top draft picks than Atkins (or any other GM in baseball) is able to under the new rules. I 100% agree that Atkins has sucked at drafting/development, but AA also had advantages when you try to compare them, which should be considered in this discussion. To be honest, even after exploding the loophole, AA's "hit" rate still wasn't great. If it was, our window may have stayed open longer than just 2015/16.
