  1. One Milwaukee Brewer who appeals to me a ton is Domingo Santana. He's a RF primarily, but man he'd be a nice add for TO. Give a major uptick to offense. In TO he might be a 30/100 guy. And he has years of control. I think as it is he is stuck behind Yelich in RF. Grischuk, Alford and Santana would be an effective and fun outfield. I don't know what it would take to get Santana. It might take a Bichette.
  2. Urena will never show anything on offense. His defense has always been stellar. I am not sure if he showed anyone differently. He could be a utility infielder on a team, not unlike Goins. But to expect any bat is silly.
  3. It would have been way cooler if he had used the iron throne from GOT.
  4. I hate the f***ing Yankees. Young studs everywhere on the MLB roster and they still have an amazing farm system. I've underrated Cashman and company. After the sell off they did very, very well.
  5. So true. Speaking of albatross contracts, I just looked at the details of Miggy's contract. That is awful. Pujols awful. Totally hamstrings that FO.
  6. Which website shows a player's team control information (eg. Anthony Alford) as clearly as possible?
  7. Hutchison, but spelled wrong.
  8. If they sign Cobb, add Hutchinson on a minor league deal, then sure.
  9. No I didn't say his physical tools will dramatically decline after 29. That may have been someone else. I said that players tend to decline in every way after 29. But I have never used the word "dramatic" in that context. His defense is down, and will continue to get worse. Versus Alford, who will only improve until he hits the "29 and decline" descent. Alford > Pillar, now and certainly in the future. If we can trade Pillar for something for this year and the future, we should make that trade. Maybe a middle reliever and a prospect. I am down with that.
  10. You should try fangraphs. Your comments and opinions might be more accurate. Athletes decline after age 29. What you see with Pillar right now is what you get, plus a little crappier every year. Alford does better than him in year 1. I guarantee it. Plus his ceiling is way higher. He would hardly get a return on Pillar, but anything works. I want Alford instead of Pillar on the roster.
  11. Definitely. Pillar's defense is down, (29 and decline looming), we've probably seen the best of his bat, Alford has the potential to be a very solid OF and could probably start now...or in June, and the homophobic slur thing. If Pillar would fetch a decent relief pitcher and a decent prospect I trade him ASAP.
  12. I would shart if we got that deal. I am prepared to offer Bichette in the deal, so those three certainly work for me. But remember, I am not a professional.
  13. If the Jays want Yelich and Realmuto, and were willing to eat all their bad contracts (Ziegler, Tazawa and Prado), who would we have to send to make that deal work? Prado and Ziegler could bounce back some and provide a little WAR. Not sure about Tazawa. Thoughts? I would trade Bichette and Alford+ I couldn't give two f***s if the FO cut any/all Prado, Ziegler and Tazawa. It's just money. Realmotu and Yelich could be lynchpins for quite a while. And while my thoughts are on this, JD for two prospects and one starter. Prado could actually cover 3B if we don't get one in return. But if we got, say Gyorko and Grichuk... Realmotu, Yelich, Gyorko and Grichuk for JD and Bichette+. Would you?
  14. Sign JDM, trade JD and a top 5 prospect to the Cards for their 3B, one of their OFs and a top 10 prospect, and we're in business.
  15. I make the Bo+ for Yelich trade ONLY if we trade JD for two blue chips, and a starter (the Cards starting 3B and another).
  16. I think that's BS. Gibby isn't too bad looking. He has really good facial symmetry.
  17. Question for all of you arm chair GMs. How does this FO get rid of Morales? What can they do? I mean, they could outright DFA him, that's the easy (but financially painful) way out. But what else could they do? Any ideas?
  18. It's crappy that two other all-stars 3Bs are also on the market (Longoria and Machado). I think if they weren't we'd have a deal already.
  19. Essentially you are saying the same thing I believe. I would rather watch a middling team that is young and full of potential than a veteran, salary-bloated, team that is middling. We need to trade JD and get rid of Morales somehow.
  20. Ugh. Ruiz will be 38-years old (IIRC). What's the point. Let the kids play and see what we have. This is not a WS contending year for us.
  21. I would much rather bring up one of our prospects. I mean, why have them otherwise? This is not the time to logjam our minors. We don't have an uber blue chip prospect catcher that we need to keep on farm to increase team control. Let the kids play and see. Save that 4-6M.
  22. I've read you slam Urena a few times. Here's a question, is he > or < than Goins? I ask because I think he may end up being a valuable bench piece with (a little) more offensive upside than Goins. More contact anyway.
  23. I appreciate this analysis. I know the FO still likes Rowdy, but I was starting to feel he was a failed prospect, not unlike Brett Wallace. I am more optimistic now after reading this information.
  24. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much in this thread. But, turns out it's one of the funniest things I read in a while. You have all captured my growing angst with crystal clarity and dark humour. Thank you.
