  1. This is uber future watching, but he's a guy that could eventually replace Vlad when Vlad makes the move to 1B or full-time DH.
  2. They would trade anyone if the return was right. I would trade Vlad for the Yanks' 5-6 best prospects (and Gray), for example.
  3. You think the Jays will trade Sanchez? Wow, I give that a < 1% chance of happening.
  4. We will not get a blue chip prospect for Happ. What I want is an almost blue chip prospect, ideally someone who is blocked at the MLB level. Which is why trading with the Yanks for Clint Frazier makes sense. Although we'd maybe have to add a prospect of our own. Maybe one of our one million shortstops.
  5. The latest is the Jays are asking for a lot. You may see the Yankees, or another team bite. Today's start doesn't help, however.
  6. AAA depth or long guy out of 'pen?
  7. Yeah, we need an almost blue chip position player, or a young SP who's had decent numbers in AA or AAA, in my opinion.
  8. Sam Cavilgio has probably earned a pretty good shot. I haven't looked at his peripherals but he seems to pass the eye test.
  9. They really need to sign Estrada to another 1-2 year deal. Losing 3 SPs really sucks. Borucki, SRF and Caviglio may be able to start and do as well as Happ, Estrada and Garcia as a composite.
  10. Yeah, this is really the best option. Then, if he stays healthy in 2019 he can be traded for a decent prospect haul and we get 3-4 WAR until then. And, the FO can justify keeping Vlad down a little longer with JD blocking him. Best case of a worst case scenario. Should have f***ing traded him in the off season.
  11. Jesus Christ I hate people who take video vertically. Take video horizontally, like your f***ing TV looks people!
  12. If they have insurance of Tulo, then maybe they would be hoping for this injury to never heal.
  13. Tulo may be one of the most untradeable players in baseball. After guys like Cabrera and Pujols. The best you can hope for is a bit of hope at the end of this season, and hope he provides some positive WAR in 2019, perhaps making him a trade candidate, and you would still be getting no return and eating 80%+ of his salary. I would love to just DFA Morales, Tulo and (possibly) Martin, Pearce, etc. But it's not a video game. Actually, I sort of like the idea of keeping Martin around next year to mentor Danny Jansen, and play 1/3 games. A bit expensive at $20M, but we paid a premium to get him to come here, when it was really tough to attract any free agents. Plus I think Martin is a top shelf guy. And a canuck. I love canucks. Because we are the s***.
  14. Hey guys, what mark (A, A-, F, etc.) do you give he Jays FO for this year's draft and why? I follow the AA and AAA farm teams quite a bit, but have barely a clue about any of the really young guys drafted this year. Please share your thoughts.
  15. I think the QO/draft pick scenario is best case at this point. If JD accepts the QO, then he hopefully has a better walk year.
  16. I'm not sure if this is still a thing, but wouldn't the Yanks needs to pay a premium to get any MLB player off of a AL East team?
  17. Or even one of our B prospects. To not look so one-sided. We'd have Frazier until 2024. Man that would be awesome. Can Grichuk handle CF though? It could be Alford Jr. time. Finally. Hernandez, Alford Jr., Grichuk and Frazier would make for a sweet, sweet young OF.
  18. To do so means you DFA Martin or demote Maile. It would be a kick in the teeth for Maile, who has performed admirably despite recent offensive woes...er...regression to mean. I guess we have control of Maile through 2023, so he would be the obvious choice to demote. The Jays can use and abuse him as a 2nd or 3rd string catcher indefinitely I suppose. Could do way worse. I was sort of hoping McGuire or Pentecost would turn it up a notch in 2018, but they have not. I used to be pretty high on those guys.
  19. Hey, looking at The Blue Jays catching situation in 2019, what are your thoughts? Maile is looking more like Maile, making him expendable. Martin looks like he's a backup catcher more and more. Do you think he's tradeable at all? I think I would like to see Danny Jansen full-time in 2019, with Martin playing every third day, and providing mentorship, and I guess emergency INF help. Assuming he is untradeable.
  20. The Angels have had a poor farm for 5 years. But I would be happy with, say, Brandon Marsh and maybe a decent pitching prospect like Griffin Canning. I really like Marsh and I am not as sure about Alford and some other OF prospects as I once was.
  21. Okay, you tell us, the unwashed commoner fans, what the Jays are doing. With your preternatural baseball insight. Go!
  22. Unless I just drank a Shamrock Shake and want to see green poop, I do not s***. Refuse to.
  23. Ugh. And I was ready to trade Pillar to start Alford.
  24. Ohtani is super fun to watch. That is a once in a generation talent, IMO. Well, so is Trout, honestly. f***ing Angels.
  25. I would rather watch the AA or AAA teams, honestly. By quite a bit. I am okay with the continued losing in that it'll force this FO to trade some of the vets. We need some OF depth and need to plan the SP rotation for next year. I would almost offer Estrada an extension, just to have that 5th guy on the rotation figured out. And I am okay with the FO not promoting any of the blue chips. It's a sound long game strategy.
