  1. Here is a 2014 scouting report on Ceciliani - not super awesome. Predicted to be below average 4th OF who's defense and speed can keep him on a team. What has changed? What marks would you give him, for the armchair scouts who know something about this guy... http://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_bat.php?reportid=117
  2. For those who picked Sanchez, take a bow This includes me, btw. Otherwise I'm not even posting this.
  3. That maid, at least from the photos I have seen, was (and probably still is) horrid. Maybe she gave great head? But still...gross.
  4. First, for those who don't think Jackie Redmond isn't hot, what the f*** is wrong with you? Second, a healthy Loup is awesome. This spring couldn't have gone much better methings. EE and JB drama aside.
  5. Okay, I'll add a hypothetical...Saunders is extended and plays > 120 games/season
  6. Honest question...if we used Colabello and Saunders for 2017-2019 (DH, OF respectively), instead of EE and JB, I wonder what the WAR total would be like for those three years? Price point? Comparisons? 2017-2019: Colabello/Saunders (10M/AAV) versus EE/JB ($55M/AAV).
  7. I sure is hell wouldn't. Once you're traded, you're free of the qualifying offer possibility, meaning you're a true free agent, and you will make way more money and be signed quicker after the season. Plus, there is a good chance you're going to be traded to a contender, too. Otherwise, you're not being traded in the first place.
  8. This has become a pretty close poll. Cue poll jokes.
  9. Yeah, I'm with you. I love the guy, but I'm guessing he has very middling stats for 2016.
  10. I think Michael Saunders might have a great year, and be offered a QO at year's end, or an extension part way through the season. I'm not kidding.
  11. Nope, short of things like working socialism, universal health care, and the Cobalt-60 cancer bomb, we're pretty boring and uninventive.
  12. That's exactly right. Our 5th starter SHOULD be Happ or Estrada with Price or God as our #1, but that didn't happen.
  13. We're different posters. His username inspired my username is all. I am from Saskatoon. I think he's from Regina.
  14. What do you think? Who breaks camp as the 5th starter? Please vote. I'm thinking Sanchez.
  15. He had a pretty good year in 2014. He'll be 37-years old though.
  16. 29 teams didn't in this case.
  17. So, you're saying we should not re-sign both? Or are you saying that we shouldn't be re-signing/extending any player over 28? Are you saying status quo, keep our existing contracts on "declining" players and fill EE and JB's spots with a bunch of Cola's or AAA players coming up?
  18. It's incredible knowing that English is his second language. He is a very smart guy. It'd be great to have him on the team going forward as a player, coach and ambassador.
  19. Tried last year with Tulo. It didn't seem to work out that well. Would you rathe move JB to leadoff?
  20. Question for you all. Assuming Votto can be moved, would you rather have EE (DH) and Votto (1B), or EE (DH) and JB (1B) going forward?
  21. You're 100% entitled to your opinion. But man, this lineup needs very little tweaking. And we have a better SP rotation going into this season than last. And I think we've restocked our AAA team with minor league contracts. Happ and Estrada aren't exciting, but they may surprise. I give this off season a 4/5 mehs. And I think they are always ready to make changes during the season. I think how they address EE and JB will really underline how things are going to roll under the new FO. I was really happy they settled with Donaldson on a new contract. If they went to arb over $500K I would have been f***ing incensed.
  22. No kidding, AA (for example) is in the perfect position for his GM skills. Man, what a FO.
  23. Why not? If posters can imply that my initial post was more than about homers when it wasn't, I can include defense. Tit for tat. Right, $4M. That isn't peanuts. I guess it's commiserate of his value. Versus, say, a JPA who can't seem to stick with a team. So, he's making 1/6 what JB will *maybe* make in 2017.
  24. So if they stopped now, we'd have issues going into the season. Good thing they plan to continue the upgrade until complete. Whew. #notreally
