  1. That may be one of the best throws to 4 I have ever seen.
  2. We almost booked a flight in on September 11th, because the prices were so cheap (surprise). But we opted for Sept 12. We will definitely hit the 9/11 Memorial site while there. I'm hoping to hit all three Jays game, we may do cheapees ($15 for a nosebleed) for a couple and go all out for one of the three games, 3rd base line or something.
  3. It'll be my first time in NYC, so I am sure I will be blown away no matter what. The Jays aren't a big draw in NY are they? BTW, I feel most of you live in TO. TO is amazing. I love the downtown and the area around Rogers. We went to Second City after a game (it's like .25 blocks away) and I was the only one wearing Jays gear. And of course I was called up on stage to a packed house to take part in a 10-minute skit. I try to hit TO every 2-3 years for a game and have since 1990.
  4. My wife and I are heading to NYC in mid-September, and we're going to try and catch 2-3 Jays games. Buying tix off the MLB site seems the surest bet, but are there other ways to buy tickets and perhaps get better tickets for a better price? Any things to do around Yankee Stadium (great restaurants, clubs, anything) within a stone's throw? Where would you recommend we buy tickets? Any tips are welcome, even the sarcastic kind.
  5. I think that would be reasonable on both sides. If we had an opening for DH/1B I would sign him in a heart beat.
  6. Man, some people jump all over Stro for anything. Unless you're a medical specialist in that field, no one can say with any degree of certainty something like an arm slot change caused any damage. When you through 95 mph, you sometimes get a sore arm. #chill
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if Tulo couldn't play until June. Maybe July.
  8. I'm hoping he can continue pitching in ST and harden that finger up. Then he should be okay. I hate to pin the 2018 season hopes on one guy, but if we get 2016 Sanchez we have a shot and at a fun fall. 2017 Sanchez means a repeat of last year.
  9. I love every move this FO has done this offseason. This guy seems to be a perfect add, could be decent, could be elite and for peanuts and doesn't have a contract that will handcuff this team for years to come. Wow.
  10. Nailed it. 85% hockey this time of year. It's a rough time for people like me, who f***ing hate hockey and are indifferent to the NBA. March 10th is a ways off. Here's hoping they announce a couple more broadcasts over the coming week.
  11. Man, just thinking of Jays prospects, what the hell happened to DJ Davis? He must be what, 23, and he's maybe in A+ ball. I remember when he was drafted he was a potential blue chip. He was seen as another Alford, right? What the hell...
  12. If he is your agent he sure fights for you, that is for sure. Why doesn't every player in MLB hire Boras? Do you think he has discretion and turns players away?
  13. I'm also shallow and park in handicapped parking spots.
  14. I've noticed that as prospects get closer to the majors, they tend to get into programs and lose weight. If this is post-program Vlad, wow. Could be trouble. But hey, they say sumo wrestlers are amazing athletes.
  15. He's a f***ing ******* for getting migraines. Big baby.
  16. I found McCowan super, super annoying. Those sunglasses! f***! I like Brunt a lot. I think he's a great sports reporter/commenter.
  17. Huh? I thought he had a torn meniscus and had it scoped and cleaned. And had a bone spur ground down.
  18. Just checking out some ST clips of Travis playing a little defense, he looks really good. He's running and moving like he's a young kid and not a chronic leg injury. Hopefully his shoulder and knees hold up. If he plays a good ~ 150 games, what will his WAR be do you think?
  19. I agree with everything here. Man, a healthy Sanchez versus Blister Sanchez may be a 5 win swing... If we have a healthy Travis and Sanchez throughout 2018, I'm going to call it...WS parade. #jk
  20. Worst case, we give him a QO. This is how I think things will end.
  21. Oh man, I really like Corey Dickerson. That is such a weird move. We need to pick him up, DFA Morales.
  22. We haven't extended JD or traded for a Stanton, but I have really, really liked all the moves so far. I would almost give the FO an "A" for this off season (which isn't over yet) if they signed some bullpen depth. A 7th inning rightue would be fine.
  23. Has Stroman been named as the starting day pitcher? In an interview is seems like he has been. But what is Sanchez blows the doors of ST? It's possible.
  24. As it is, Buffalo is going to have a pretty decent team I think. I was listening to a Jays-related podcast recently (Jays From the Couch?) and they touched on the subject of keeping your affiliates competitive and successful. Otherwise you might get stuck with something in the PCL, maybe Las Vegas (ugh). It was an interesting topic. The nearness of Buffalo to TO to shuttle players back and forth easily is sort of a big deal.
