  1. That's what I think may happen...but the QO was $17.5M last year, no? I guess at that point what's a few million.
  2. Well sure, if you only want to look at two of the four players involved.
  3. He's a guy I coveted when they had too many OFs after signing Cain, et al. UFA after 2022, IIRC.
  4. What was Santana's story with the Jays a few years ago, did he have a verbal agreement with GM_AA, but then reneged for the Twins? Anyway, he may be a buy cheap 2-year deal SP for 2019+
  5. Petricka was throwing 98 mph gas with crazy movement the other day. I am not sure I want to jettison him just yet.
  6. I honestly think Shapiro can increase payroll whenever he wants to, especially if the right deal comes along. I am 100% sure he has allowance to take on a bad contract if it means a larger prospect haul in a trade.
  7. I like that, the more prospects we can pry from that f***ing franchise that could bite them in the ass for years to come the better. They will play against the Yanks just a little harder I presume. And about 1B, Tellez is finally starting to come around on offense and you know, Joey Bats may make a decent 1B. Just spit balling.
  8. Because they are B prospects, IMO, and since this season (and next likely) are lost, Pillar is hurt, etc., etc., I would like to give these two guys an extended look at the MLB level. The rest of the season.
  9. I think one of those guys will thrive to become an everyday 2-3 WAR OF.
  10. Wow, Martin has had a weird season. Sort of stuck batting around .180 but is taking a lot of walks. I wouldn't ever throw him a fastball.
  11. I think Teoscar would make a pretty decent DH/spare OF. #cutMorales
  12. I didn't think you could trade players on the DL.
  13. I dunno, man. Vanilla Ice in his prime had some moves.
  14. I see positives to trading him now, giving him a QO, and re-signing him. I guess, because his trade value has plummeted (presumably) if there is a A- prospect targeted, we could offer Happ *and* one of our B prospects to get him. I dunno. No easy answers. And we don't know the interest. I think if Happ makes one stellar start ASAP he maybe traded right after. Just a gut feeling (er...guess).
  15. Well, f***ing terrible. But the ceiling for both of them is still solid. If I was relying on two Caviglio-type pitchers who had ERA's north of 6.00 it'd be a different story. We have to hope these two figure it out and stay healthy. We have them for two more years. Having said that, I would not mind doing a Mets thing and listen on offers in 2019 for both Stro' and Sanchez, if they are doing halfway decent. I don't think Atkins should ever trade anyone have a down cycle unless forced.
  16. You're right, his ERA was horrible off the hop but his metrics have been really solid for a few weeks now. And he's mature. IIRC 24? He maybe more ready than Pearson. Again, start a scrub in his spot (Rowley) until late April for the control thing.
  17. Would you sign him to a 3-year deal? I think I would. What would it take? 3 years, $12M AAV? I don't know if I re-sign Estrada, unless he is really cheap. Borucki appears ready for 2019, and hopefully Pearson comes back hard to be integrated into the rotation late April, early May. Those two, Sanchez and Stroman, and Happ make for a good SP.
  18. Unless the long-term contract covers $20M for both arb 3 and arb 4 I don't think he takes it.
  19. Salaries are irrelevant? Even in most video games salaries are relevant.
  20. 95% of the fan base has thought this for 3-4 years.
  21. This is good to know. I thought when the AAA season was over, they were "free" call ups. Like someone said, Vlad getting a little injury now actually might work out better for the org. If he finishes the season in AAA, and begins next season in AAA, ONE FULL YEAR MORE! That is awesome. Now if only Estrada and JD can get f***ing healthy so we can trade them for something other than a bucket of balls...
  22. Thanks to Osuna's suspension, we get another year out of him, too. Looking at it strictly from a baseball standpoint.
  23. I've never regarded Biggio as anything, in terms of future with the BJs. Do you think he has a shot to play in the majors? And be impactful?
  24. I think he ends up better than Travis at 2B. Healthier, too. Win/win.
  25. OMG, this may be one of the more shocking things I have read in a while. Bobby Bonilla? So many names who haven't played for eons are still making piles of money. And yeah, the Nats are sooooo screwed. What is there annual cost, $40M in deferred payments? OMG. Baseball should outlaw these contracts.
