    Barger kinda reminds me of Travis Snider, albeit successful.

    He had a blister issue before the all star break but I think it's cleared up (He's on my fantasty team). I'm just hoping we have some very long at bats, he only goes 5 innings and gives up a couple, then we have 6th inning breakout.

    I mean the contract sucks but I'd still keep your expectations in check. Vlad is sitting at 134 wRC+ and his 2024's first half was also 134 wRC+ (FYI his career avg is 136). I think that tear he went on last year's 2nd half (211 wRC+) which made him look godlike was more of an anomaly at this point, I wouldn't bet the house on a repeat performance.

    Why did they even bother pitching to Springer there? and that throw.... lol

    I think Vlad and his team knew they had all the power in those conversations because Rogers was so invested in the city's sports and wouldn't want to be known as the richest owners who couldn't lock up their homegrown talent. Also, it's Rogers. Who wouldn't try to milk them for every last penny?

    Wow I didn't realize it was that bad. I saw the headline of Yesavage walked 6 in debut but never thought it was a game like this.

    There's honestly no point in worrying about the state of the contract 10 years from now. He might waive a no trade clause and not even be a Jay in 5 years.

    Worst case scenario is your Rogers bill increases next year by 5%. Best case scenario is this makes signing other players easier in the future as there's no way Rogers would put a hard stop on spending after this decision. I also believe we can't just say we could easily sign player A or B next year by letting Vlad walk. How did that work out for the last couple signings we whiffed on? Toronto isn't an easy place to attract players and everyone seems to forget that.
