    Jose has been the better hitter this year and has been his entire career I think he's fine.

    Hit and run is useless with this team. Better to just sit back and wait for the longball. I hate the "have to have a #2 hitter who can hit the ball to the right side" way of thinking. Martin does have a sexy OBP though.

    Rather just keep Donaldson hitting 2nd and bat Martin 3rd but the difference in that is less than Pillar hitting 1st.

    I think what impresses everyone is the plate discipline. His hand eye coordination is crazy good by reports and combine that with ridiculous raw power and you can see why everyone is so high on him. Even if the HR numbers aren't showing up on the boxscore just yet.

    He rebounded last year pretty well.

    Probably thought it was gone and jogged. Like there was 2 outs so you would be running no matter what, not to mention it was a moonshot off the wall that the CF had to get to. Morales even as an above avg bat is just a replacement level player.

    Lol when a guy throws 97 and he throws a breaking ball that starts on the same plane as a FB it isn't easy to lay off. The fastball up and last pitcher were terrible but you're acting as though its easy as hell to lay off that. Even JD and Bautista swing and miss in those same situations.

    Yeah he came close for sure. Had about 4 hangers down the middle after that he just fouled off. Not like it was a good AB because he fouled off a ton of hittable pitches.

    Pearce gets about 5 hangers doesn't come through then Pillar with that piss poor AB.

    Morales is like that too. Hits ball super hard but into the ground half the time.

    every injury outside of Travis's is "should only be a few days" then turns into 6 weeks.

    Not much of an extra workload. All he has to do is jog around the bases when JD/JB/Kendy/Smoak hit homers.

    Smoak should probably be hitting 4th and Morales 5th but that isn't a huge thing. Biggest problem is Pillar has been ice cold in the leadoff spot. Martin should probably be moved up there. .374 OBP this year.
