  1. Also if you aren't subscribed to the Athletic you should probably do so. Fantastic Jays content and it costs peanuts.
  2. Meh AA had some pretty good drafts. Best player the Jays took last year was out of HS.. Outside of a few schools the development is way better in Pro Ball than in College.
  3. Sounds kind of like JB Woodman at SS. Hopefully turns out better than Woodman has so far.
  4. So Lott asked a bunch of Blue Jays execs/coaches what their go to offensive stats are and Atkins said xwOBA. Even though its probably obvious he uses it considering their moves this last year its still cool to hear him say it. Smart FO the Blue Jays have.
  5. While they've over performed they have age on their side. Judge, Sanchez, Castro, Hicks, Didi are all pretty young. Their BABIP is way too high but I don't see a huge regression coming. Donaldson is by far the best hitter of both teams but 2nd base is a disaster with Travis out for a long time. One thing that hasn't really been talked about is how bad the Blue Jays defence has been. And while JD and Tulo are back they still don't look like the defenders they used to be (injuries could be holding them back). Add in the fact that Pillar looks a step slower and Bautista/Carrera gong shows and what looked to be a strength is now a weakness.
  6. Didn't he sign for slot? Which was a lot lower than he was going to get given where he was projected to be picked.
  7. Yankees lineup is a lot better than ours. Tulo has looked terrible and 2nd base and LF are still big holes. Their rotation is pretty good too especially if Tanaka can figure it out and then you have Betances/Chapman in the 8th/9th.
  8. I think you could only have a starting Pitcher DH on his off days/Pinch Hit . I don't think people realize the toll pitching takes on your legs. Just too much workload to try to play a position at the same time as pitch with a MLB schedule. Guys can do it in college/HS but they only play 2 or 3 times/week. Maybe a bench position player who is also a relief pitcher would work.
  9. Durant was so good this series. GS doesn't come close to winning without him. Lebron showed why he's the GOAT.
  10. Sounds like a project. With the Jays trying to build a huge player development system not bad to take a raw high potential guy.
  11. Watch Carlson sing for slot like SRF a few years ago.
  12. Wasn't comparing the player abilities to each other just how people hated the "college safe SS".
  13. sounds like the reaction to Trea Turner being mocked to us. I like the pick. Solid floor and ability to keep improving.
  14. "Giants are able to develop players"-Harold Reynolds on why Giants going off the board makes sense.
  15. The kid should of just read off someone else still left on the board. Would have been hilarious
  16. I think Jim was making the assumption of resigning JD so that is why I said that. Obviously it doesn't really matter anyway since JD is a FA after next year.
  17. Same with NHL and NFL really. Baseball is the only sport where you don't really need a top superstar to win.
  18. You get Trout for an extra 2 years at $33M each. He's worth close to $80M per year. Last time I checked JD doesn't play CF.
  19. I'm just saying if you were only allowed to keep 1 of them who would you take? Basically who do you think is the better prospect/has the better career.
  20. Fun question: If you could only keep 1 of Vlad or Bo who do you keep?
  21. Even if SN was I would never listen. Could you imagine Zaun or Barker providing analysis on the picks. Be 10X worse than Reynolds.
  22. Reality in basketball is one player has such a large impact on the game. Having the GOAT in the same conference for the last 10 years makes it tough. I still love the NBA, watching the Cavs-Warriors is so entertaining. Like I said every sport has its challenges. The Dodgers have been one of the very best teams in MLB the last 3-4 years and haven't made the World Series, does that mean MLB is broken? No just the structure of the league is different so the best team usually doesn't win the championship.
  23. To P2F: 3rd round pick in 2018 To me: #50 overall in this year's draft.
