  1. I disagree. Shapiro has said the team needs 2 starters implying both won't be starting. If anything he might trade both knowing their value might be at a peak with how volatile reliever performance is.
  2. While we are at it lets just throw $15 million off the CN Tower...
  3. Rockies are so dumb... Coming from the franchise who thought Jose Reyes was an asset lol
  4. I'm more in favour of signing a #2/3 starter in the offseason than trading for one during the season when prices are astronomical. I think we can all agree you can't go into a playoff series with Dickey and Hutchison as half of your rotation and expect to win. I'll take Heyward over one of the big arms because I think he is a great fit for the team both in the lineup and defensively but I'm not wasting money on Chris Davis when it can be better spent elsewhere. Davis is exactly the type of player who gets over matched in the playoffs. Strikes out a 3rd of the time and against better pitching that would surely go up even more. Give me John Jaso a great OBP LH bat over Davis who is only going to cost like 10-15 million.
  5. Heyward seems low at 10/200 unless its front loaded with an opt out. I wonder how much extra the Blue Jays would have to pay him for him to consider playing on the turf.
  6. How is the rotation going to be very young? I highly doubt Sanchez and Osuna will be starting.. Bullpen is one of the better pens in the league if Sanchez and Osuna remain there.
  7. Have to think they are going to hire more people. Pretty sure there are only 2 FT analytics employees right now lol.
  8. My cover is blown!
  9. Rick Westhead is a very good reporter and has broke quite a few big stories so far. Its not like he's some no name guy.
  10. Patrick Corbin would be a great pick up.
  11. If you sign Heyward you should be able to still sign another solid SP in the Shark, Kuma tier. If you non-tender Revere and Thole that saves 8 million. That leaves about $40 million to work with. You should be able to structure Heyward and a FA SP with lower $ the first year if you have to in order to fit the budget. Maybe Rogers gives them an extra 5-10 million if you tell them you can sign 2 big FA which will increase their revenue.
  12. Was the SN piece just a taped piece that was already played? Sure sounded like it lol.
  13. I don't think anyone is disputing that... Heyward lets not forget helps out the pitching staff as well.
  14. Even offensively I feel more comfortable with Heyward. Sure he may not have the "power" but he fits the lineup better IMO with the high walk rate and low strikeout rate. I'd sign Heyward to 8/250 with a 4 year opt out before Davis to 6/150
  15. 3 point shooting has been pretty bad so far this season. Calling Terrance Ross...
  16. Usually when people say that its because it buys them time to think of answer to the question lol.
  17. man Scola is frustrating to watch. Takes way too many shots. Also Derozan should never be allowed to take an end of Q shot. Ever.
  18. We can only dream... If Payroll really was going to go up why leak that it is going down? A lot of bad PR for Rogers right now.
  19. Terrance Ross is so bad defensively. Zero court awareness
  20. I'd much rather go for a high OBP LH hitter. Davis had unreal power but also strikes out almost a 3rd of the time.
  21. Sign Bautista/EE. Theres a ton of risk with Davis since he strikes out so much and I see his career more along the path oh Josh Hamilton. While Bautista and EE are power hitters they have elite BB/K numbers which lessens the risk IMO. Give me Bautistia at 4/80 over Davis at 6/150
  22. I think wherever Price goes it will be the NL. He just really wants to hit IMO lol. When he sat down with Zaun he said one of the 5 conditions that he had on where he would sign is that he was allowed to take BP every week.
  23. Can't see Shapiro signing Chris Davis.. I think that contract is going to be terrible.
  24. No we didn't? We heard it could be around the same, but they haven't decided on the final figure yet apparently.
  25. So bob mcowon is saying he doesn't believe Payroll will be going up and can possibly be going down a significant amount. McCown isn't the smartest guy when it comes to baseball but still has significant sources inside Rogers. He's also going on a rant calling out Rogers and I have to agree with him. It would be all sorts of stupid to lower payroll right now.
