  1. Derozan might be the most frusterating player to watch. Passes up on a catch and shoot 3, puts it on the floor to shoot a contested 2 a foot inside the line.
  2. Terrance Ross doesn't even look like an NBA player right now.
  3. If those 2 orgs are analytic based explain the terrible trades they made and how bad they have been. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/11/08/baseball-battle-between-scouting-and-analytics-continues/vplsMNmBXQuYrXfsxlwydM/story.html
  4. Those Heat jerseys are the ugliest things I've ever seen. Who the f*** designed those?
  5. does he look good? Not watching the game.
  6. Could be Dombrowski too
  7. Did anyone notice the part at the end where it says don't be surprised if Bud Black is hired soon? That would be a great hire. It'd be awkward with Gibbons still here but if he were to ever take over he would be a great choice as manager. One of the best bullpen managers in the game.
  8. Well then you get into a debate about whether the Jays make the playoffs or win the division if they don't make those trades etc.. The interest level spiked a ton when those trades happened though and I don't think they sell out every game if those trades don't happen. Also Fan590 and sportsnet.ca got a ton of extra traffic with the deals so the only people who really know how much it was worth in terms of $ will be the execs inside Rogers. I still stand by them making over $100 million this year in profit. Now I'm not too familiar with how much they have to pay into revenue sharing so maybe they didn't actually take in all that $ but since Rogers owns SN and SN gets a below market TV deal they probably can game the system without having to pay MLB that much money.
  9. Yeah you never know with Simmons but I'll still stand by them making over 100 milllion. Its really remarkable how many TV viewers they get, especially in this day and age. I mean you look at the TV contract down south and the Blue Jays by far and away get more viewers than any of the other clubs. Even if ad revenue down south is worth a lot more per viewer the Jays should be raking in the $..
  10. Well Donaldson's father was in prison for 20 years on drug charges so I don't even think he has a relationship with him. There definitely seems to be a correlation. When the talent level is around equal the kids who work or (get worked) the hardest get them to the next level.
  11. Was watching PTS and Jon Morosi kept coming back to Stroman not throwing as many innings because of the injury last year. Like wtf do you not realize it wasn't an arm injury.... He was throwing throughout his rehab anyway.. Maybe that is where he got it from but its completely stupid.
  12. Well the article said they made $70 million in Ticket and Merchandise profit alone for this year. The non playoff TV revenue would show up next season more because of the pre-sold TV slots. They would of made a ton of money on the playoffs this year though for TV. Also Fan590 and SN.ca saw record numbers as well which helps Rogers make money but won't show up as profit for the Blue Jays.
  13. This is the case with a lot of big leaguers. Lawrie's dad was crazy, Stroman's dad was insane in not only being the crazy dad on the field but off the field too. Same thing with Tulo's dad..
  14. lol NJH and Hurl said there was no way they made even $50 million... When you include the TV money Rogers made well north of $100 million probably closer to $150-200 Million.
  15. No point. Bowden said an hour later there is Zero chance AA would come back.
  16. I'm not the biggest "chemistry" guy when it comes to baseball but I do agree that Price gives you intangibles that make the team better. Its clear how much Stroman looked up to him as a role model. Even Latroy Hawkins was very important for the bullpen. That being said I'm not going to give a guy 200 Million because he's a great leader and role model. But if it came down to where player A was worth 3 WAR and a bad teammate and Player B was worth 2.5 WAR and a great teammate I'd be more inclined to have player B.
  17. I remember him saying Nestor Molina was going to be a sure fire Ace
  18. They don't need an "ace" but they need at least a number 2/3 starter probably 2. Dickey and hutch starting half your games in the postseason isn't going to give you a good chance of advancing.
  19. The issue is the rotation without an upgrade to a number 2 starter isn't a world series contending rotation.
  20. Wonder if any other blue jays players will go to him since his 2 biggest clients JD and Colla were on the team. Jays should just hire him lol.
  21. Doubt he pitches that many. Can't forget there's probably a big drop off in performance if he moves to the rotation as well. HR ball was a problem for him in the minors and if he moves to the rotation it will only be worse I would think.
  22. Thats why I'm in favour of trading Osuna in the right package. I don't think there is any realistic chance of Osuna being an ace because that is what a 5 win starter is. Also the reason Dickey is so valuable is because of the durability which is the concern of Osuna. Osuna isn't throwing anywhere close to 210 innings anytime soon.
  23. I'm not so sure Osuna will hold up as a Starter. Already had TJS and his mechanics are pretty scary.
