  1. Was at the game today. The ball the last couple of days has been carrying a ton. Saunders first HR was a routine flyball but the pitch before he crushed it just foul that would have been a HR anyways. Junior Lake looked showed good range in CF. Another thing I noticed was how far Pillar has been hitting the ball in batting practice. I never saw him last year take BP so I have no comparison but he has murdered the ball the few times I've seen him hit so far.
  2. To BB: Justin Williams To JG34: Comrie + Namestnikov +2nd prospect
  3. I think the Blue Jays will want to see how Pompey is defensively in LF before giving him serious playing time. While he's a great athlete his reads have been below average.
  4. how long have you been a STH for? They're good seats but the thing is you never pay face value since everyone wants to be there and so few people sell.
  5. Shapiro was on the radio that inning. Raved about Alford's makeup.
  6. Its not like just adding a leg kick will improve your swing, but players working with Tewksbary is definitely encouraging. He teaches players rhythm and about bat path which should help players hit the ball on the sweetspot more often. A leg kick is really just a timing mechanism in a way.
  7. Looking for improvements at forward and D. Willing to trade entry draft picks and prospects not named Rantanen.
  8. What else did he say about Valencia? It always seemed like the media knew something the public didn't.
  9. Some of the defensive projections seems fairly low too so I think they are even better than this. Goins and Pillar should be better than that I would think.
  10. Lol take it you didn't watch the video because right afterwards he said that that was the average and players age differently and from different baselines. He isn't going to trade elite players just because they are in the decline stage of their careers. Martin is here for the rest of his career pretty much anyway. Even at his age he's a top 3 Catcher.
  11. I hate the Leafs but have to admire how great of a job they are doing with the rebuild. In 3-4 years they should be a contender.
  12. That was a really good interview. I'm not a big Phillips fan after the harassment incident at ESPN but he's a really good interview. Since he was a GM before he seems to be able to relate to the person and get the most out of them, unlike what we've seen before. One of the interesting things Shapiro said was that he thinks 28 years old is the start of the decline phase.
  13. By DRS he went: 2013: 13 2014: 13 2015: 1 But if you look at Inside Edge he's been pretty much the same the last 4 years. I would expect him to slow down fairly soon although the arm should remain elite.
  14. - Stroman has an ERA under 3. - Pillar has a 4 WAR season - Tulo has a 5 WAR season and plays in 140 games - Drew Hutchison makes 25 starts this season and has an ERA under 3.8 - Aaron Sanchez has a significant arm injury - EE regresses and has a wRC+ of 120 or lower -Colabello makes more starts at 1st Base than Justin Smoak
  15. I have tickets in 101 row 2 on the aisle if anyone is looking for weekday tickets at below face value.
  16. Great Tulo article by Ken. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/troy-tulowitzki-says-he-s-done-feeling-bitter-at-the-rockies-022816
  17. Reddick is a really good defender and is great contact bat with power. One of the issues with him has been durability.
  18. I think Curry is having the best season ever but he isn't yet the best player ever. IMO you have to continue performing for multiple years. If he can be like this for another 2 or so years and then stay healthy until he breaks down he's going to be the GOAT. He's got a good chance to maintain his performance though since a lot of his value is his shot.
  19. I think both end up getting more if they perform as expected. I would take Bautista at similar money, but that's me.
  20. Were there lots of HRs?
  21. If Osuna was going to be stretched out you would of heard it by now. He's going to be in the bullpen.
  22. I wasn't just looking at his major league stats but more so his entire year with the injury and all that. Just had a bad year in general.
  23. Wonder if he'll accept going to Buffalo. Hopefully he can get some of his velo back since he was pretty bad last year. Minor league deal is never a bad signing.
  24. I think the Celtics would be an awesome fit for him.
