  1. Inning limits are pretty garbage and there is no reason to think this regime will implement such things. They hired a sports science dept so they can treat each player uniquely. If a player is tiring during the season they will come up with a strategy but just because Sanchez hasn't thrown many innings in the past doesn't mean he will break down if he hits a certain number of innings this year.
  2. With how the blue jays are constructed that would be great. Donaldson, Tulo and Goins on the jays turf with that many groundballs is going to bring great results. Like I said if he can cut down on the walks he doesn't need strikeouts to be very good.
  3. lol what a horrible strike call... Ball was like 3 inches from the ground.
  4. Knew I should have drafted him in the BORED league..
  5. Id like to see both pitch against actual MLB lineups before we start comparing the 2. The Rays had a crap lineup today.
  6. Certainly pales in comparison to basketball and football. I think Stroman does really well since he started his own brand plus he's got New Era, Jordan etc..
  7. Agree. I think it looks like this come opening day: Storen Cecil Osuna Biagini Chavez Floyd Choate/Venditte
  8. Not a good job by Lake on that flyball there. Slowed down and the ball bounced in front of the wall.
  9. Jose Bautista is one of the most recognizable stars in MLB. Thats like saying Kevin Durant doesn't have the same appeal in Toronto as OKC since he played there.
  10. Even if Sanchez doesn't strike many guys out if he can cut down the walk rate he will be a really really good fit as a starter on this team.
  11. Nice curve there. Interested to see what the changeup looks like as thats been the big struggle for him in the past.
  12. While the power has been there his contact rate has declined 3 straight years. A career high 9.3 Swinging Strike% last year and he always seems to have these nagging injuries while barely playing the field.
  13. No matter what happens with JB I don't want to sign EE before the season ends. People talk about JB's age but EE looks like he will decline at a much higher rate.
  14. Toronto is definitely a great opportunity since you can market yourself to all of Canada but New York, LA and Boston would be higher.
  15. If it was that easy I'm sure the Jays would have done that already. Bautista isn't stupid so he isn't going to take less than what he can get.
  16. I'd rather do 5 years/110 million then 3 years/90 million. 30 Million/year kills the financial flexibility for a team who has a tight budget, not to mention you can spread out the money with inflation so it isn't as bad.
  17. Don't see that often, Donaldson with a 3 pitch SO watching 2 fastballs for strikes.
  18. I feel like Dickey is really going to struggle at the beginning of the year again. His strikeout rate and velo keeps declining.
  19. anyone have a stream? my mlbtv account is having an issue.
  20. he changed his swing...
  21. Just got back for a week at ST. I really like Pillar's swing but like many of you I don't expect his walk rate to get a whole lot better, although I think there is more power potential. I have to say he puts on a show in BP, hitting balls just as far if not further than the big bats on the team. I'll admit I never saw him last year in BP so I don't know if he always hit the ball this hard but it sure is nice to watch. And in the end is still is just BP. Josh frickin Thole won a HR derby the guys did for fun with one of the ugliest batting stances I've ever seen.
  22. Saw estrada, chavez and hutch yesterday on the golf course (watching, not playing). Saw Donaldson tee off on the 1st tee and after he drove it about 375 yards he flipped his golf club in the air while bumping his chest yelling "gimme some of that". Probably one of the funniest/coolest things I saw in Spring training. He's about as cocky/confident as you can be but he backs it up for sure and has a ton of fun while doing it.
  23. I went to the Tigers/Marlins game today. My Notes: Barry Bonds is one hell of a skinny man.
