  1. Will Wagner at 3B killed this inning.
  2. John Gibbons would have been ejected 3 innings ago with that strike zone.
  3. Schneider draws a walk on 6 straight balls. Man this umpire is awful.
  4. The Jays getting a runner on 2nd with only 1 hit is impressive.
  5. Yeah enough singles to get a run was doable. Enough for a 2nd or more is asking a lot.
  6. The offense is bad enough, but the umpiring is just making it ten times more obnoxious.
  7. Hopefully the Jays can string together 4-5 singles in an inning at some point.
  8. My guess is with 13 games in a row and bad weather that Schneider is trying to give each important player a game (Gimenez, Springer, and now Vlad). It will be interesting if Bo gets a day off because they rarely/never give him a day off or use him as a DH, historically.
  9. Can't believe the slap dick offense was enough to win this game. I'll take it. Go for the kill tomorrow.
  10. Sandlin coming in. Not looking good for the Jays here. Damn. Was hoping it would be Garcia.
  11. Lukes better move the runner to 3rd at the very least. Thankfully Kirk is not up anytime soon.
  12. Brutal game and offense. Another season of hoping for 4 hits in a row just to score is torture but looks like we are doing round 3 of that (since 2023 and 2024 were so much fun).
  13. Kirk is likely a ~95 wRC+ player moving forward. The value comes from defense. This is the third year in a row they are acting like (or hoping) he’s a good hitter but the sample suggests otherwise. It is what it is. Bat him lower in the lineup moving forward. In this case Clement and Lukes are worse, so pick your poison as far as lineup construction.
  14. Kirk is incredibly frustrating to watch.
  15. Could the same people who showed concern over Gausman's lack of K's before this game show the same concern for the team's lack of home runs?
  16. Clement having a good 2024 was the worst thing that could have happened because he will get a lot of rope this season because of it. I’m not a believer at all. Doesn’t walk, poor stat cast indicators, and will probably play way too much. Hopefully he’s a strict bench guy when Varsho gets back.
  17. One thing about the Jays org, especially Schneider, is that they genuflect for veterans. Like they’ll get on their knees and touch a vet’s feet before every game. So if Springer is not in the lineup, then it’s likely a mutually agreed upon move. They are way more likely to bench a red hot young player for no reason.
  18. Curious what this, if anything, says about their jobs post 2025. Clearly they did not value Vlad at this contract, so they were overruled by ownership. Regardless, even if extended, they won't be around long enough to have to deal with Vlad's declining years at the end, so ultimately it doesn't really hurt them all that much one way or the other. I would think between this and the Kirk extension that Shapiro has gotten some assurance that he's sticking around.
  19. No Springer in the lineup today. SS Bo DH Vlad LF Tony 2B Gimenez 1B Wagner CA Kirk RF Roden 3B Clement CF Lukes
  20. In case none of your prayers were answered recently, God was busy helping Vlad extract as many dollars as possible from the Blue Jays. Should be free to help others now.
  21. Vlad's agent > Boras. Either that, or Ed Rogers walked into the negotiating table and immediately bent over. Maybe both.
  22. Seems like Ed was a big part of the Vlad extension, so logic might not be in play here, but Vlad is obviously more important to the Jays from a marketing standpoint than Bo is, so who knows how far they would be willing to go for Bichette. Would be nice if Jimenez or Kasevich turn into 2026 SS options this season, but both are hurt at the moment. Or they could shift Gimenez over to short and run a Wagner/Jimenez platoon at 2B, which might not be that bad assuming the defense (Wagner's) is average or better, though I wonder if they'd even want to move Gimenez given how elite he is at 2B. Or maybe Orelvis finally figures things out, but I suspect if the Jays are in a playoff race in July, then he's the one they'll ship out for more help.
  23. I actually think there's a better than 50% chance that Bo stays now. The only big market team that needs a SS is the Dodgers, and they don't seem like a team that would get into a bidding war for Bichette. I'm not sure where else Bo would be able to get big money. Rogers is obviously willing to overpay (see Vlad), plus now Bo has a reason to stay with his buddy extended. I doubt Kyle Tucker is a real option for the Jays, and I'd be surprised if Schwarber leaves Philly. Not much else available in free agency with any real impact potential on the position player side. Of course, if the Jays are out of it at the deadline and decide to trade Bo, then all bets are off.
