    Unfortunately, Stroman's antics yesterday will make the Jays a target for umps now. The league won't do s*** because Manfred thinks holding up 4 fingers for a walk is better for the game than changing one of the worst parts of it. Umps are like the police. Nothing will happen to them.

    That one extra win that the Jays would have right now with Price and Edwin instead of Happ/Estrada and Morales would be well worth the extra investment though.

    Getting Soler would be a nice gamble to take, but getting him for Liriano seems like a huge reach. The Royals GM can't be that desperate for a rental who has no command.

    Chris Cotillo is saying Vallot was removed from the game due to back spasms.

    Man imagine if Liriano was actually having a good year? He would have been a huge asset. There is interest in him despite pitching like ass for the last two years except for Aug/Sept 2016. Getting any type of value out of him in a trade would be great.

    Eat up the rest of Liriano's (and Estrada's) salaries and get a better return. The Jays are not trying to shed payroll. They are trying to get value back on players they will lose after this season. Money saved this season is meaningless to anyone except Rogers, and even they probably would have been ok with increasing payroll if the Jays were in the race right now given the attendance. Don't have to eat up any money for Smith since he's probably viewed as an asset by other teams, but if they have to swallow $4mm or whatever it is for Liriano in order to get a better return, then do it.

    Sparkman + another lottery ticket would work for me. Sparkman by himself, not so much.

    The moment I saw "Royals", I had a feeling it would be Sparkman. If he's involved, I hope he's not the only prospect.

    Yeah, looks like it will take a few more seasons like this one before Rogers concedes. I've heard American media talk about the Jays fan base in an envious way because it's young and loud. For a game that is leaning towards an older audience, that's huge. Don't think Rogers wants to lose that unless the team has no choice, so no wonder Shapiro is hyping up 2018.

    Watching the highlights of the home runs, and it's no wonder Rogers doesn't want to rebuild. Lively crowd and a lot of people considering it is a Wednesday night against a s***** team.

    Watch the team sell off their impending Fa's at the deadline, improve the outfield defence, get a capable stop gap at 2b, and go on a mini run.

    Morales is so bad. Please find a taker for him and keep Pearce. Eat up all his salary, who cares.

    We don't have Sale, Quintana, and Eaton to trade. Stroman is the one guy we can move and get something like that back. Maybe Osuna. Sanchez when he's healthy can as well but this has pretty much been a lost year for him.

    It wouldn't surprise me at this point if they bring Estrada back on a smaller deal. Shapiro openly said he hates the free agent pitching market, and Estrada has been bad enough to where he might be affordable on a one year deal if they think he can bounce back next year.

    When I saw his name as a rumored trade option for Texas, I figured Atkins would be all over it. Should come cheap because he hasn't been good, but still young with control left, and the Jays could give him playing time for the rest of this season, and the next two years when Travis and Tulo both take their annual extended DL trips. Not saying I want him, just saying it wouldn't surprise me if Atkins is after him.

    Jose now has a 93 wrc+ and .390 slg. Damn that extra draft pick would have been nice.

    I have a feeling we are targeting Profar. Can cover all infield positions and has two years of control left after this year. Value has gone to hell. Time to load up on failed top prospects and have them get some of that high performance Justin Smoak magic.

    Jarrod Dyson is a free agent. Can play all three OF positions extremely well and is probably a 2-3 war everyday player. Teams don't usually pay big money for defence and he's in his 30's. Might be a reasonable two year contract type of player.

    Ref's defence graded out pretty well in the outfield in 2016, though in a small sample size (158 innings). Doesn't look like much of an infielder but maybe there's some potential in the outfield. It's a shot in the dark but why the f not at this point?
