  1. I'm a fan of Tony Kemp. Bring him in.
  2. Did you turn back into Brownie and tell yourself that you have mentioned this same point already, therefore are disqualified from ever bringing it up again, even if weeks or months (or years) have passed? That's the real question that needs to be addressed. And I doubt the difference in the two numbers is that much. Even Stroman is not so much of an egomaniac that he's going to want numbers that the market is not seeing. If anything he is probably asking for something similar to what Corbin got (6/140). I doubt the Jays number is any less than 5/80, if it is, then obviously they have no shot.
  3. Bautista himself said he would defy aging curves. I don't think fans were expecting him to. Stroman could blow is arm out tomorrow, that's how unpredictable pitchers are, but age 28 and expecting a few more good/3 WAR seasons is not outlandish, IMO.
  4. Stroman for Frazier would be horrendous, but if we trade with the Yankees, that's going to be the piece coming back. Cashman has plotted this for months. Whoever he gets, Frazier is going the other way. Hope it's not Stroman, unless he is willing to attach Deivi (he won't).
  5. Font only pitches well when he's wearing a Rays uniform.
  6. Wouldn't surprise me if Montoyo lets him face one more batter and then bringing Hudson on for the top of the lineup.
  7. No one warming up in the pen. Damn, stop letting Montoyo think for himself.
  8. If the Jays make that deal (hope they don't), I'd look to flip both of them.
  9. Taking Stroman out now would be ideal, but Montoyo will probably let him go 7, or get an out or two before a curtain call.
  10. That's a perfect Brian Cashman move. Two players he doesn't need, clears 40 man roster spots, and gets two players who will immediately help.
  11. I want Grichuk to have a monster 2020 just so he can be traded right after. The final 3 years of his deal is essentially 3/29. That is movable if he's any good. This season is clearly a write off for him. And count me in as preferring to keep Stro long term, but one reason is because I'm not confident about the trade return. If we get difference making prospects who can help in 2020-beyond, then that changes things. If we get Clint Frazier, then fml.
  12. Buntoyo has to play Galvis and Sogard for trade reasons, and then Drury has to get in there as well (team obviously likes him), so that’s the crunch. Once Galvis and Sogard are moved, playing time should open up. Bo coming up to sit on the bench would be a disaster.
  13. Yup if he goes to Houston he will become a legit ace within 2 weeks.
  14. He will start. I agree that he shouldn't though.
  15. Agreed. Stro or Giles could get hurt, their performance might fall off (see Happ's July last year), etc. Also the sooner a trade happens, the more control the receiving team gets. It won't mean much now, but two more Stroman starts if he's traded before tonight could mean something to the team acquiring him. There is no right answer, but risk by holding too long is definitely big. Teams are not stupid anymore. There are no AA 2013-15 GM's anymore. What teams are offering now is probably what they'll offer a week from now, at least the bigger names.
  16. So don't trade Stro to the Yankees, Shatkins.
  17. Damn the Jays were drilling Brad Hand. Too bad Vlad just missed it.
  18. On another note, Hernandez hasn't looked half bad since being recalled. With the bat at least. Haven't seen his D in CF, but FG rates it pretty poorly as one would expect.
  19. How Rivera has lasted this long is remarkable.
  20. I just don't want waiting to bite us in the ass again. Both Stro and Giles have looked great recently. This should be peak value. The fear of holding on too long is still lingering. Last year scarred me.
  21. I meant "never forget" Pompey stealing 2 bases. You can forget everything else that happened in that inning.
  22. Yeah I believe he even said he wasn't 100% yet from the concussion. If he was on the big league roster he probably wouldn't be at his best anyway. Probably hoping he'll sneak through waivers.
  23. I think Stroman's teammates probably like him and his personality a lot more than posters here do even if he calls himself the glue. He's a gamer, always gives props to his teammates, and cheers them on even during a tanking season. Contrast that with someone like Sanchez who is not nearly as outspoken but seems like much more of a douchebag. I don't know why Stro is so hated here. No doubt responding to a random fan's tweet is a bit much, but baseball needs more players like him.
  24. The last time the Yankees pushed someone as hard as Deivi this young was Severino. I think they hold on to him. Pushing him to AAA at 20 is very aggressive. I don't think they do that and then trade him, but I would definitely be happy with a package involving Deivi in it for Stroman. I'm looking at the top 30 prospects lists for the rumored teams, and keep going back to the Twins. They have the prospects and the need. It's a perfect match.
