At least we didn't have an o-fer road trip out west like last season. Still a disappointing finish.
Regardless, we're still only 3 and 5 back of a wild card, as neither Minnesota or Houston took advantage. Houston could be in for a tough week.. they play the Angels. And Minnesota showed that they may not be in it in October, with that pitching staff. ANd they've got Pittsburgh next, then these Mariners we just faced, who seem to be turning around offensively, since they made Edgar Martinez the hitting coach.
At this point, I'm no longer concerned with the Yanks.. they're running away with the East at this point. Aiming now for one of the wild cards.. Minnesota I can't see adding much and will likely fade down the stretch, and who knows what Houston will do.
At this point, us, Tampa, Baltimore, Detroit, Texas and even the White Sox can't be counted out.
