  1. Add that to Price and Cueto signing here and it looks like the Jays will breeze to the playoffs next year. Maybe a big free agent bat to eventually replace JB as well.
  2. Just getting excited to wake up one day and read on MLBTR that the Jays signed Moncada. That, and for OTP 16 to be released next month.
  3. Corrected with what AA really meant to say
  4. Well, that's definitely a true blue jays fan projection! I have to agree with these.
  5. Nice deal by SD, very decent value. Solid offseason they had, they will be a fun team to watch this year.
  6. Don't they have Norris at C? He should be improving still too. Alonso had a below avg year last year, but he's still passable at 1b. Gyorko should give them ~2 WAR at 2b, which is probably better than what the Jays will throw out there. 3B/SS could be their only real weaknesses but Middlebrooks is still only 26. San Diego isn't all that bad, they have guys like Myers who can turn it around and are still young. They should have an exciting team if they sign Shields.
  7. I just don't think the Blue Jays will sign Shields because they are prepared to make a monster offer to Moncada and they will sign a guy like Cueto next year. I'm sure it will work out better for us to not sign him and go with signing a younger #1 guy next offseason.
  8. Are they going to spend money on Shields, the BP or Moncada or all three?
  9. Darvish, Cespedes the list goes on and on..The Blue Jays are allergic to spending money on international players.
  10. Right after the offer to Moncada of 5/15m, I'm sure both will sign with us with those offers.
  11. Isn't Vlad JR like only 15 or something? Moncada should be a stud, but even if we didn't have any deals with anyone next year. We aren't outbidding the dodgers/red sox/yankees on him.
  12. Doubt he goes for 60, otherwise Marlins/Red Sox and a bunch of others would be all over it. I don't think he gets less than 20m/yr, maybe 4/80.
  13. Not sure, but a minor league deal is what he deserved.
  14. Go for the bench, easier on your shoulders I find. I had 2 shoulder surgeries so I don't do much free weights but I can still do 205 , 10x3. I actually try to do 11 reps before I increase in weight but I think I am maxed at this weight due to my shoulder issues. Proper form is better than increasing your weight just to say you can do X weight.
  15. I may have exaggerated slightly but he's still mediocre at best. Why couldn't we have spent some real money to get a nice reliever, lights out. The pen is shaky. We went into the year having to improve it, and this is the guy we get.
  16. 6.6% whiff rate? 3.69 xfip / 3.9 fip / 1.4 CAREER WAR SOLID!!!!
  17. fk the pen will be a mess if this is AA's idea of signing a good player. I'm sure for every player there's a good stat to find if you dig deep enough, but we need a good reliever, or a guy who can close. Why is AA looking into garbage scraps like Belisario? Is it payroll? Man, sometimes I just don't get the way this club operates.
  18. Projections are just projections. At the end of the year, either they hit or miss them, I take them very lightly. They have a good amount of depth now, which is really important in case of injury. Their entire pitching staff is quite solid, starting to closing. They should have quite an easy time winning the NL east. They have an owner that wants to win.
  19. Regardless how dumb Rogers came out looking in this mess, I'm actually impressed AA held to his guns in the negotiations in not trading Hoffman. So, Rogers goes down in my books, and AA goes up in points. I was actually worried they were going to trade hoffman for DD. It's one thing if this was one of the top guys in the game, but it's friggin Dan Duquette, lol ..
  20. Was this only to speed up the game? Because there are about a hundred other things they could do to accomplish that before eliminating shifts. lol
  21. Unfortunately it seems highly unlikely Ed Rogers would ever be replaced as Chairman of the blue jays, even though he was made to look like a real idiot in this whole mess. Calling other owners and not even knowing who knows who in the baseball world. You would think he would take at least take 5 minutes to do some research before he started looking for a replacement but it looks like he just thought he could do it himself.
  22. Can't be Hoffman. Has to be like cash or a b prospect. Jays are not THAT dumb to be willing to part with him for Dan friggin Duquette.
  23. Because they can trade him for prospects or to fill another need. He should be able to net a really high upside player. They will still be able to chase him when he's a FA but look at their rotation now: Scherzer/Stras/Jzim/Gio/Fister and Roark , granted it's unlikely Roark repeats 2014 but he's still a solid #5. They are stacked at pitching. They technically don't need to trade anyone, but it's better to get prospects back now then nothing later and I think the reason for signing him was to make a trade and get some young controllable players back.
