Right now, we are looking at Stroman + Dickey + maybe hutch. Kaz/Hill are not enough in my opinion to get this team to the playoffs next year. Yanks/Red sox will get better, Boston will add a #1 pitcher and NYY too. I can also see Boston starting to swap prospects for more established players as they will tweak their lineup to get back into contention. This team needs a legit #2, Kazmir is way too inconsistent. This team had good hitting this year, and it still wasn't enough to win it all.

Kansas doesn't have those players yet beat the Blue Jays pretty easily and they made it to the world series last year as well. You are forgetting there are a lot of good players in the league. Price isn't with the team when FA starts. Martin anyone could have signed and he kept Sanchez over Syn. Donaldson was a great trade but I was disappointed with the mets/marlins trades. This team could have had a different makeup with young cheap controllable pitching along with some hitting instead of an expensive yet very good hitting team. The Mets made it that way and they have a pretty solid rotation for a while. AA wasn't perfect by any means and is replaceable.

With or without AA this club will move forward. Unloading all your top prospects and doing what AA did probably could have been done by many GMs. The mets are definitely glad they dealt with AA, that's for sure.

That's quite a lot for Estrada. I am hoping 3/30 can get it done since he has a chance to be on a competitive team those 3 years. -

Yep, this team needs 3 proven starters. Just don't see that happening. For sure resign Estrada, he can fill in the #4, then you can try a rookie at #5. But you still need high end talent in the 2/3 spot. Boston/NYY are also going after top starting pitching. -

Probably half the league will be in on Zimmerman. NY is going to sign 1 or 2 of the top free agent pitchers, it could very well be him.

You just wasted one of the top 5 starting pitchers in the game to use in relief in a 6 run game...

Price is a STARTER. You want him pitching 7-8 innings not 1-2 in relief. There is everything wrong with using him with a 6 run lead.

It's not like Price is your ace or anything. Price is 1000x more valuable starting game 5 than he is in pitching in relief. You can use your pen and have them rest tomorrow.
