    They need that exact lineup to have a shot against Boston. I think it will be JB or Fowler, not both though, then they'll add a project reliever to save money.

    Great signing, but I am still not impressed with the morales signing. That money should have gone to EE or a high end reliever.

    If this team had tons of prospects I would be for it, but not for 2 years of a possibility he returns to big numbers. Doesn't make sense at all. You can just sign fowler, and he'd only cost a draft pick. This team has very few premium prospects, so trading them is not a smart move.

    The thing is, Beltran is a couple of years older and had a better season than him last year, and he's most likely going to get in the 12m range. So, I think JB would be wise to take a multi year deal because he most likely will end up with less money in the future holding out. Next year he'll be 37, realistically does he think he's going to get 30m/yr offers lol and Beltran who put up 1.7war last year is going to get in the 12-14m range? Even if he puts up 2war this year, he's not getting over 16m/yr as a 37 year trying to sign a short term deal. If he had any 3/40-45m/yr deals, he should take it, and if I am the Jays I'd make that kind of offer. I know it's a gamble but he's in great shape still.

    I'm assuming it's because Mets are eating half his salary and Jays aren't getting that nice payroll increase everyone thought they were so they need to settle for replacement level players.

    Fowler at 5/120 that seems like a lot. I would hope that we switch to Cespedes. We need an OFer right now and cespedes is also 31 years old vs EE who will be 34 in a couple of months.

    lol The team isn't signing JB and EE for that reason. Also, this team is now stuck with RM unless they eat a lot of money trying to trade him.

    Don't mind Cecil as long as the Jays get Jansen. They need another premium arm in the pen. Osuna goes to setup, Jansen closes. Or you just use 2 closers, rotate, so the jays can finish off close games.

    More recently when people describe RA, I think people just say he's an 'innings eater'? I think the braves figure if he pitches half decent in the NL maybe they can flip him at the deadline for a prospect or they have someone to pitch a lot of innings next year.

    lol His agent can be looking for 5/250 , he's not getting over 100m. He's also not getting 5 years. I can see 3/75. He doesn't exactly have the athletic body that will take him into his late 30s, so I'm sure most teams know even at 3 years, there's a good chance they get burned on that last year. Edwin is 34 to start the next MLB season.

    Yep, that's likely the issue, do we want a 17m Saunders on the team? Just forget the QO and work out a 2-3 year deal with him, or even a 1 year deal so he can build up his value.

    Well then, we most likely have our corner OF. I can't imagine him refusing 17m a year, open market he's probably looking at a 3/25-30 type deal.

    The Jays aren't making the playoffs for quite a while after this, they should look to add prospects at this point. They have 0 top 25 prospects. I don't even think they have a top 50 prospect either.
