  1. Shatkins fail. Everyone knew he had to go last deadline. A legit top 50 prospect for him would have sure looked good now.
  2. That worked out real great for us lol
  3. Paulino 2-3 years ago, but after injuries/non development, I don't think he really qualifies anymore. He wasn't even top 20 on their prospect chart anymore.
  4. lol yep, we were all thinking of the 2-3 stud prospects this club would get. Instead they got, well, lol nothing.
  5. Just wondering when Giles gets flipped for a team's failed #10+ prospect next year if we will still all say it's a great trade?
  6. Solid trade for the Astros! Nice upgrade and a younger reliever for spare prospects.
  7. Ya, what would be the point of acquiring an older and more inconsistent reliever? Shatkins needed to focus on getting a decent prospect. If Giles continues and doesn't produce next year again he has almost no trade value, 2 bad years in a row for a reliever means he's getting traded for peanuts.
  8. Giles is older, more inconsistent, so no, they aren't really the same.
  9. Wow, Shatkins really has no business running this club if they don't get at least one of Houston's top 5 prospects.
  10. So Jays 1 month ago: 'Ya, we want Sheffield' Jays today: 'We'll take anything you have to offer, Drury who you want to dump anyways, sure'
  11. Right, let's wait to see what the complimentary pieces are, I just don't like reading 'Drury' is the main piece, that would lead us to believe the other prospects are just throw ins which the Yanks probably don't value too high.
  12. No he's not Chris Davis bad with a massive contract. I think what fans wanted, was a high ceiling prospect, even if he may have not been currently a team's top 10. But looking at other teams trades so far, Happ should have gotten a top 10 prospect, which Drury isn't. So, maybe there's a semi decent prospect coming back, but if Drury is the 'main piece', that would be a pretty bad trade.
  13. If Drury is the main piece, Shatkins will get ripped by the fans. Doesn't make sense.
  14. Hopefully they mixed up Drury with Sheffield, not sure why Shatkins would like Drury.
  15. Really, how good have Stroman/Sanchez been this year?
  16. Almost every gamble Shatkins has made has backfired. They held onto assets too long. I'm not sure which GM could have done worse with the cards given. The only positive thing they did, ironically, was not signing JB long term. Granted we knew this year was a write off anyways, I'm just upset that a lot of the trade chips we thought we had, are now valued extremely low.
  17. But you would require a good G.M with foresight to do something like that. That's why there's little reason to believe Shatkins will be able to take this team to the next level. This will be a middle of the pack team for a while.
  18. Maybe for a Machado, but not for anyone on the blue jays.
  19. At least the Shatkins gamble of holding onto him for a better deal this year worked out well, real well..
  20. Would we use part of Vladdy's eligibility on a wasted year? If so, there's absolutely 0 point to calling him up. He's not going to change the starting pitching, and several other holes the team has. We'd just be using service time that would hurt the club later on. Let's think of the big picture here.
  21. You aren't getting either let alone both for JD. Maybe last year but not now.
  22. Pillar on pace for 162 homers
  23. Would be a good gamble by shatkins if JD needs shoulder surg
  24. He was on a House Hunters last year.
