  1. I really like Manoah, but he is one of the most over hyped arms in MLB. Unless he masters another pitch like a change, that is plus, I think he will still be a solid 2-3, but will regress. Low K numbers. Avg V. Inconsistent breaking ball. The whole "mound presence" narrative is up there with vetrin presents.
  2. Watching SEA-CLE and the gun slingers coming out of the pens giving me envy. Brash. Munoz touching 100 with movement.
  3. Yep. He has pretty much been first time Jays Bass since he came back. Bring on the Royals! Let’s get rollin’
  4. The Buck whisperer. We will look to you for translation throughout the season. I do not miss Tabby - that’s for sure.
  5. Really nice. Anyone see a catch probability on that?
  6. This is one game and I’m sure he will be better. He has a pretty solid track record, but I always liked a potential 1 year overpay for Strip on a QO over the 3 year Bassitt deal.
  7. I am too. He could lose 10-15 in a heartbeat if he really wanted to. It would help him.
  8. Kirk looking speedo svelte shape this season.
  9. Good ol’ ST narratives. So annoying. I have heard way too much about his 18 different pitches.
  10. I’m so glad the season is back! Game 2 with our #1 SP. Looking forward to see what Gausman does this year. Anyone else think he looks a bit like Jughead from the Archie comics (dating myself)?
  11. Sitting on Laguna Beach. Can’t watch. Following the box and the thread. Game 1 and sounds like it’s been wild. It’s only one GM, but just not in the camp of Manoah > Gausman. Why did we pitch to Arenado again?
  12. That was the big differentiator. The Japanese that didn’t throw 100 had all manner of other filth. Can we give Kikuchi to them in exchange for another please?
  13. Man that was something. Stomach was churning watching Trout vs Ohtani. Incredible. Here it is..hit it. Got 2 fastballs and a slider whiff. Congratulations to Japan. Great tourney. Spring training can’t end soon enough.
  14. Darvish 4th highest career K/9. Kyle got him on the 10th pitch. What a f***ing at bat.
  15. Trout FO. This is the chance for the USA.
  16. I am pretty sure Kirk could beat him in a sprint. He says he is healthy but he doesn't move very well. Fingers crossed.
  17. I have a hard time understanding the negativity for this tourney from some circles. This is good for the game. Last night was a game for the ages as millions of fans in Japan and Mexico lived through joy and agony. As a baseball fan, how could you ask for anything more than that? Incredible. Ohtani's plate approach in the 9th was awesome. MEX was soooo close to pulling off a massive upset. Just wow. What a game.
  18. I see things that still concern me with him - the BBs and pitch selection (hard to tell in Spring as they work on things) - but as a 5th he should be fine, if Berrios doesn't pitch like a 4-5.
  19. 100%. I love this tournament. Can only get better.
  20. They really bounced back. I thought they were turfed early in the tourney. All comes down to beating MEX for Canada. Whitt has done a nice job using the limited talent he has. In this pool not much more he could do to put us in a position to make it through.
  21. Its the Pirates and its Spring, but Kooch looks like a 5th starter we won't dread in '23. I like his pace with the clock.
  22. Good for Jose. He was a bit of an odd duck, but was a beast for this org and delivered us an iconic moment in our history. That drive and the crowd reaction still gives me chills.
  23. Lol. The Spring Bird discussion, analysis and roster prediction…..then poof.
