    Not sure I understand your point. I always played and coached the IF goes hard for a ball like that until called off by an OF. Did George ever call? Or was it just one of those no man's land tweeners that ends up with the misery I am currently experiencing?

    Probably. Like holding Britton for the "save". Throw JBJ into LF for Whit or do a LF/RF shift with Teo. If you want to take Springer out later, move JBJ to CF and throw Tapia in LF then. the whole season is on the line and you were way up. Tapia is just bad defensively. 9th percentile OF jump which came into play in this game.

    The TBJMB thread is kind of irrelevant. We can all have opinions at a point in time - a bunch of fantasy players, casual fans, baseball savante and fangraphs diggers etc. Atkins is spending real money on signings, and millions in real resources are poured into the work/analysis behind making those investments. Ultimately they are judged on how those decisions pan out and affect the business. Atkins played the fire Montoyo card for a reason this year. It wasn't like everything was glorious, and the criticism just appeared.

    Well there is that and there is there the question I keep asking myself....why the f*** is Tapia in a game we are up like 8-1 when we rostered 2 defensive OF'ers? To top it off then there is his 5 millionth plate appearance of the season, and I have to watch him fly out to end '22.

    Kind of fitting their deadline guy shoves yesterday for the W and ours in Bass shits himself today. And Tapia makes the last out of the season in a game he never should have been in. Last year we miss the playoffs by a game and this season we blow an 8-1 lead. Our Atkins metamorphosis into the Leafs is almost complete. Emabarrassing. Losing 2 straight at home in the WC isn't a successful season - to me anyway. All the spinning after the end of '21 and here we are. Toast.

    Even if they wouldn't have caught it, Tapia with a 7 run lead coming into LF is inexcusable. No justification. No rationale for it.

    Maybe not a great comparison but I feel with Strip like I did when Estrada pitched with that change. Every time Marco pitched in a big game we needed I was terrified he would get lit with his high wire act change and 89 MPH. And mostly when we needed him he was brilliant for us. Strip might just be tonic if we can win today. Gilbert is top shelf too for Game 3. No easy meals. Love to have an impact LHH or two against him. Got to pray for some Rocket magic. All this is moot if our top hitters don't put up some better at bats today. Cant win with 0 runs.

    Make sense? I said this series isn't over. We lost first 2 games in 2015 vsTexas and pulled out the series. We ran into a great pitcher yesterday. Flush it. Move on to a new day today. It Won't be easy but 2 in row at home doable.

    Unless Espy isn't ready for a whole game, which he should be to be on the roster, load up on RHH and throw Whitt in LF. Don't lose anything on D in the OF and improve the IF D.

    SUCKED. Ain't over. I remember the same feeling after we lost the first 2 in a 5 game series vs TEX in '15. Look what happened. Castillo was terrific. Flush it. Tomorrows a new game.

    Our big deal for two top prospects (at the time) was Berrios. They didn't want back to back year prospect drain I guess. Price was too high in the market in '22.

    Shits wicked. tons of movement and changing speeds. Lot like Cole, but you can get to it sometimes. Need this to be one of those times next inning.

    Swung at 2 good pitchers pitches. one up and in and one down off speed. Both were strikes. Good pitching.
