  1. Wouldnt worry too much. If he didnt end up in a One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest straight jacket after 2022, he should bounce back. He seems a ton more confident this year and deserved better overall tonight. Got to tip your cap to some of those ABs the O's put up with 2 strikes against him and Yimi.
  2. Lol. Love Bubbles. Clearly he called for that replay and was 100% sure.
  3. And Manoah in AAA (maybe). Baseball.
  4. 100%. Unnecessary. Better D unquestionably and arguably better offensively. Send Espy down. Good depth.
  5. If he is sent to Dominican winter ball for the love of God don't let Vlad's grandmother cook for him. She has caused Vlad immeasurable damage with her culinary creations.
  6. Sucks to be out of a spot. Playing 89 W pace ball right now. 64.3% chance to make playoffs. Win this Series vs the O's and start rolling. All we can do. Cliché one W at a time.
  7. Well. It’s finally happened. Varsho has finally passed LGJ in fWAR.
  8. That’s fair. They both suck. No need for Meta4 to burst a blood vessel over it lol. If Espy is better than Dejong it kind of begs the question why we got Dejong in the first place. One has options the other doesn't. Neither is much of a bat. But lets move on. Juice ain’t worth the squeeze on either of these players.
  9. whats funny? Espy has options and can do down. Is there some metric (s) you have that shows he is better offensively and or defensively than DeJong of any legit SS? Espy is a neg WAR player this year with a 65 wRC+ and a s***** OAA and just about every other D metric.
  10. I would have kept Dejong over Espy. He is better defensively and although his bat sucked in a short stint for us, he is a better bat than Espy. At least has a track record of more pop upside. Also, who knows if Bo gets a tweak again to his injury and a bit of a setback. DeJong provided that insurance.
  11. Its hard to believe Sportsnet kicked off the a season with Manoah and Hazel Mae:'Alek Manoah: Obsessed,' a six-part series documenting pitcher's path to Blue Jays. Baseball is a tough game. Manoah has to work and fight his way back.
  12. There has been days when we have all been doomers this year with our offense lol, but yeah this is awesome to see. I'd sure love to see Vlad get the head out on some heat and mash it into the LF stands.
  13. Wasn't too keen on Grichuk coming back. On another note I saw a stat today that Elvis Andrus has 2069 career hits. Didn't expect that. I'll always be grateful to him for 2015 Gm 5 vs TEX.
  14. After a slow start with the DBacks Pham slugging .633 over the last 7 games and starting to pick it up. We'll see if the nutcase can keep it up. Season OPS+ 123. Could have used that bat in this line vs LHP.
  15. 43211234 was the only one who voted "worse". Always thought he was a bright fellow.
  16. Kendrys was coming off that 4 WAR season in '09 with a 136 wRC+ and was hitting pretty well in 2010 when he wrecked his knee on home plate after a grand slam HR celebration. Who knows how good he might have been without that freak injury? He never really got back to the player he was except in an outlier 2015. Vlad has not had a major injury in his career to deal with fortunately. When you look at his career numbers its eerily similar to Vlad's career numbers. I hope Kendrys is not the ghost of Vlad's Christmas future.
  17. Went to 4 games last week in 2 separate trips to TOR and we went 1-3 vs Cubs & PHI. I heard a new mantra that I need to follow as a Jays fan to keep perspective and ensure my sanity as SEA pulls up to 0.5 games back: "Happiness = Reality minus Expectations" So we are having an excellent season. All is hunky-dory. We are in a playoff spot, best pitching staff in baseball and the best is yet to come. Try to enjoy the ride.
  18. Ya. I think Chappy leads baseball in balls hit over 400 ft that didn’t go out. But we don’t expect Chappy to be Vlad so you can live with it. Guy is going to eclipse 4 WAR and get paid.
  19. Agree. The hands. The toe tap. The timing and flow must be so difficult. I hate how late he is so often on even below average fastballs in a hot zone of the plate.
  20. True. That’s life. Not always fair. Buntoyo wasn’t my fav but Ross showed him the door last year, after hiring him. Was it his fault they were scuffling? On the margins maybe. Managers, coaches and FO usually take the fall. The ironic reality of this season is the team is doing pretty well relative to the league. The FO has assembled a very good to great pen and rotation. The projection underperformance offensively has hurt their ability to score runs and kept them being a truly upper echelon team so far. That’s all juxtaposed against high expectations. All will be forgiven, like 2016, if they can get in and make a splash most likely. It’s at least quite conceivable, if not probable, Vlad and Springer go on a tear like Bo did late last season. Let’s hope. We keep waiting for it like a Christmas morning when you are a kid, that just doesn’t come.
  21. Great vibe here. We need some runs. Even though it’s 8-4 I’m suffering from an involuntary twitch caused by Espinal.
  22. I don't think Judge is the equivalent of Jeter and his 5 WS rings to Yanks fans. I don't think its close. Because Judge has never won anything other than an AL "home run record". Bonds holds the real one. Teams get over PR issues, if they win.
  23. Me too. Nelson Cruz, even if got to 500, would have to overcome his 2013 50 game PED suspension.
  24. I get that. Those fans are rabid for winning. Same as Red Sox Nation. On its most negative day on the Jays, this Board is supportive by their standards. I guess Judge being moved would be on par maybe with Betts leaving the Bosox? If they make tough moves and win, all is forgiven. If they make tough moves and don't win, there will be met by pitchforks at the gates...for real.
