  1. 50/50 he gets in. A career 145 wRC+ and over .400 OBP. Staggering quality numbers. Issue will be did he need another 1-2 years production. 3 more career WAR than fellow Canadian Russ Martin who wont get a sniff unfortunately. Yet some around baseball like Sal Perez to go in with 16.
  2. 64% odds is solid. I have 2021 PTSD. The offense has had so much trouble scoring runs. Last night perfect storm on top of a solid start - bad D, no bats and bad relief pitching (Silver Fox gets a mulligan). Santander hits a pitch 8 inches off the ground out looking Vlad Sr like. Got to win the Series tonight!! Vlad looking like an older Tony Gwynn...from the right side. We need some bombs from that bat.
  3. Great post. Captured my sentiments exactly. Its all monopoly money for him at this point. Whats a couple hundred million matter +/-. Its more about him personally as a human/athlete, and the loss potential to the game baseball of a diminished unicorn. Someone and something never seen before. Also, the Angels absolutely suck as an organization so badly its mind boggling.
  4. Good comparables. 2 of those 3 look meh ish so far. Schwarber hits 46 bombs in '22 and tops out at 2.6 WAR for 20M. This year 0.3 and in Vlad range. yoshida's D is pretty bad. I hadn't looked at his D stats before today. 0.8 WAR. Castellanos is a pretty much disaster although he made some nice catches in the playoffs last year lol. 0.3 WAR after a negative '22. These are cautionary tales on term/AAV to hit & no mitt players value.
  5. There will be lots of talk OTB on this, but it will be really interesting to see what hit no mitt guys like LGJ and Teo get coming off pretty mediocre seasons (1.3 and 1.4 WAR to date). Every years market is a bit diff but what would be some good recent comparables? Funnily enough thats like 3 times Vlad's WAR lol. Last off season FA cost/WAR was $8.5M
  6. Cabrera is pretty nasty.
  7. Had 2 already today. That’s my quota. Might need another given our run total.
  8. I hate that feeling this year that’s around too often. That feeling 2-0 seems insurmountable. Cmon Jays.
  9. Avg EV 30th percentile. Hard hit 50th. There are some underlying stats that do look better.
  10. That’s fair. Agree. Given his age and the way he has looked this year when healthy, it’s concerning.
  11. We aren’t even in the back half hombre.
  12. He was thinking about sharing a nice juicy bucket of Mary Browns deep fried chicken with Manoah post game.
  13. Yates 5.5M. Green 8.5M over 2 years with a multi layered option deal.
  14. Ya. That stung. He was kind of the Chad Green lottery ticket scenario, and the cost reflected the risk.
  15. Argh. I gave up watching his stats so often. Can't say as I'm surprised. Just looked. Still only at 104 and 1.3 WAR overall. I wish they would have jettisoned him back to us at the deadline.
  16. For sure. All fair. OTOH I think we are getting more out of Belt and KK than expected. I wasn't a big fan of moving a year of Teo's bat in win now mode for a RP, who had one big year. Who knows if Teo would be doing better if he were with the Jays but he hasn't been good there, and he isn't here now. Ironically I think his D has been better for them lol. (hopefully he doesn't go off down the stretch) The deal has worked out. Old 130 wRC+ Teo would be nice for us in the 3/4 spot and against LHP especially - but then we don't have Swanson. All in all net gain...especially with the Swanson control.
  17. Absolutely. Their pillow deals overall have been excellent. I mean we could have used Bellinger (right Term?), and we didn't get anything out of Yates, or much out of Chatwood (smaller deals). Semien and Ray etc were obviously off the charts exceptional wins. Always inherent mutual risk in these deals, but its a bite sized chunk.
  18. Ladies and Gentleman, Introducing your starting first basemen, with 2 WAR and a 135 wRC+, for the Toronto Blue Jays...Brandon Belt??!!!
  19. Holy f***. Some nasty filth from Jordan Romano tonight! Great Win Jays. Awesome. Thats more like it!!
  20. If Romano can close this out its a wet dream night for Schneider. Gets to use 7 arms in the first game of series win against the O's.
  21. Game saving potentially sick play by Bo. Wow.
  22. Mayza has got this. Lots of confidence in him.
  23. Does anyone else see the irony of Manoah still showing up in the Mary Browns deep fried chicken ads?
