    True. Well bud aside from 2021 we have seen 110,106,132 and 116 wRC+ in '23. Maybe. Doesn't explain the consistently high EVs though. Enigma.

    Some great news on Ryu today. Just a bone bruise. Sometimes they take awhile but still a best case scenario. He looked vintage last night and so fun to watch.

    His stuff does look electric. In '21 he averaged almost 98 on his FB. He has lost a couple MPH it seems.

    Not sure I understand. Other than teams taking shot on a pen arm (in this case from a DFA) which happens all the time, how does Cabrera show up in a comparison with Fuji and Hicks? His avg FB us under 96?

    Recency bias but is Hicks essentially Pearson + 2/3 MPH? K rate is up this year. Low spin rate. Whiff % percentile 75th. Struggles at times with command on both the FB and SL. I see him as a really useful piece but not replacing Romano's spot.

    For sure. And Silver Fox and Romano are out. Yimi was a bit shaky but got picked up by Mayza and Biggio. Team is starting to fire on all cylinders fingers crossed.

    Ya. That’s right on SWR. Quite the gotcha. Came over in Stro deal. I lose track sometimes of all the top prospects and picks traded away which they criticized AA for. Daniel Norris and Matt Boyd’s of the world. Berrios sucked last year 1 fWAR. Especially when his V was down making the other pitches he relies on less effective. True that his FB command was also off. He needs to stay health and eat innings as thats where a lot of his value over 1200 IP has come from. If he doesn't his value drops dramatically. He's got a career FIP over 4. As far as what may happen, in a 7 year deal its all about risk assessment vis a vis term/AAV.

    ya, that was over the top. lol. My bad. Metafour knows his ball. We just disagree on a few topics.

    Ya right. Because a 7 year extension is norm right? lol. Id expect this kind of comment from a charter member of the Ross Atkins salad tossing brigade. We paid two top picks (albeit not great ones by this FO) for him plus this deal. I hope he delivers like this year for most if not all of this deal. He has been durable. Quite a few arms are until they aren't over 7 years. He ate up a lot of IP in MINN. We shall see. My preference would be to augment a rotation with FAs rather than paying premiums building 5/6th of the rotation around them. Rather see some more developed in house realistic options since 2016. Call me crazy.

    At the moment. Long way to go. Ex: Berrios has had 1/2 good years and 5 more to go. Given what we saw with Manoah in '23 we all know this. I think Kooch is going to be paid 16/10/10 with biggest chunk out of the way which is nice.
