  1. Been saying we need to look at this forever. Depends on the deal (s) obviously but nothing and nobody should be off the table or sacrosanct.
  2. Really will be interesting heading into in their '25 walk year. How do you value a 26-27 year old who can hit the ball as hard as anyone but is a 1B producing only 0.4 WAR in 2023? How do you value a 27-28 year old SS who is bottom third defensively but has incredible bat to ball skills - a low BB rate and a 10th percentile chase rate? I'm in the minority I'm sure, but the chase is a concern to me given his limited D upside. If he doesn't hit like he is now a long term expensive deal would be painful. Like Baez and Teo etc etc, the guys with high chase and lower BB rate/OBP skills have the hardest time maintaining production as they age.
  3. Its a business. An 87-92 ish Win team puts bums in seats and eyeballs on the TV coast to coast to coast. A big payroll commitment from the owners and the new extra wildcard makes it easier to maintain relevance to fan base. "If you get the playoffs its all luck from there on and anything can happen" seems to be their business objective & mantra. You can see the logic in it.
  4. Along with the BoSox. A sweep dream is turning into a split nightmare at best if we can’t pull this out.
  5. Can’t watch game now. How is Ryu? Line looks bad and contact looks hard.
  6. I have the same feeling but it only started a week or two ago. It just a feeling that seems to fit more and more as we watch the team go 2/26 with RISP and score 4 runs over the last 2 games in the middle of a race.
  7. Its funny how some people think we can catch TB and the O's. but yet teams less games behind us can't catch us and punt us from the last WC. Probabilities and fangraph odds change quickly if a team gets on a run of Ws or Ls. If this was 2015 and 16 we aren't even in a playoff spot right now. We are on a 89 W pace. Work to do on the phones today Ross. Lets go. Bring Teo home.
  8. You mean the robo umps but only X challenges per game when they can make the call? The rest of the time its clowns like Angel. I like that compromise if we cant get the full monty.
  9. f*** me as if that beast needs any help from the ump.
  10. reverse jinx. I see what you did there.
  11. yep and his 128 wRC+ . Chappys dont grow on trees.
  12. Chappy.....pure poetry right thar'
  13. That and the last few series we have lost more close "winnable" games than we have pulled out. A series win is great against LAA but a sweep was tantalizingly close again and slipped away. The last 2 games so far we have 3 runs. Not going to cut it.
  14. Here is where Teo would come in handy to PH!
  15. Lol. Cmon you are supposed to say you drained a 3 as the buzzer went to win in on torn ankle ligaments.
  16. Lets just wait and see. I strained mine playing football pretty badly once and was out a couple weeks. Used crutches a couple of days to get the weight off it. It didn't tear but it hurt like hell for a few days. I knew something was wrong instantly when it happened. Had to wear a brace when I came back. Not easy for a SS. I hope to hell its minor and he just felt something and froze out of precaution.
  17. If he wasn't already looking at bats on the market for some time given our offensive needs before Bo got hurt (maybe), he should be canned tomorrow at 12:01. I'm sure he is talking on a number of deals.
  18. Is he a better option than Espy this year to fill in for Bo? Not sure. He sucks defensively and he has hit like s*** in '23 too. Splits are better against LHP.
  19. I think we have been saying that all year lol. Well AA added Joc, Rosario and Soler. Get busy Ross. You got time!
  20. f*** that. ATL won a WS losing Acuna Jr, Ozuna and Soroka. Judge and Stanton have gone down for the Yanks. Others have to step up.
  21. He is probably going to be our SS for at least awhile. Hopefully Bo is ok but this is going to test us if not. Our first really impacting injury. Along with Romanos. We have been really lucky compared to some of our comp on the IL front.
  22. Teo is 70th percentile this year Outs Above Average. Jumps are mid and his arm strength is 75th. He is more than serviceable in LF with his bat. Especially vs LHP. A lot was made by some Jays fans about the HR he couldnt pull back. For Teo I thought that was a hell of an effort. Some OF'ers might not have even touched it.
  23. Ya, I don't why some people assume when someone is having a good walk year that its because its a walk year. The opposite happens a lot. LGJ and Teo have both had bad years to walk on and it happens a lot. LGJ has been semi s*** awhile now after a hot start. I'd take Teo back in a heart beat to DH/LF and hit LHP. But i think its a pipe dream. I guess we will know soon enough.
  24. lol. I get your take. AA bad-Ross Ninja. I do agree Ross has a talent for making draft picks that don't work out (ya, most picks flame out for everyone) and then dumping them when that becomes apparent. Lets move on.
  25. That JD deal wasn't so bad. Giving up Thor and his 19 WAR to the Mets hurt. I think both AA and Ross's records are mixed. Which is pretty normal. I think this Hicks move was "break glass in case of emergency". We lack SP depth/development and thus bought a rotation. Even if these 2 are at best future 4-5-6s (like a Matt Boyd ish who AA dumped for Price rental) dumping them for a rental RP seems out of sync with this FO track record and comments. But I'll take it. We arent really sure what Greene will be like yet and no idea how long Romano will be out.
