    Ya. Its just not reality. Its always grey. Ross fired Charlie last year = lifeline. Buntoyo wasn't my fav, but the teams performance at that time was far from all his fault. In pro sports live by the sword die the sword. They get paid well regardless. BoSox just made some major FO moves.

    Listened to that this morning on B & B. Made a lot of sense to me. Barker has gotten solid. He doesnt just rip the team but he does call it as he sees it.

    People still talk about Cito, AA and Thor. RA Dickey. Even Dave Steib a time or two...its a message board. Thats what happens. You wanna fap Ross....go for it. Fill yer boots as they say on the Rock.

    It was obvious to most of us at the time. They hung on to Stro too long too and that also turned into a shitshow. We ended up getting SWR and LHP X. SWR + top prospect at the time plus $120M became Berrios through ‘28. Berrios has given us 3.7 WAR first couple seasons for $37M worth about $31M.

    On Blair and Barker? I actually like Barker now. I think he has grown in that role. When he first showed up he was just goofy.

    Spank, JD was a 5 WAR player in 2017 when we weren't really contending, and in no window. They could have chosen to move that big asset then for more value than Merryweather in '18. Calculated risk that failed. Would have made them less barren.

    Its still so puzzling to me why he left a grinding Bassitt in for the 6th at 95 struggling pitches the other night, by yanks a shoving Berrios tonight @ 90.

    I have to admit back in the day I didn’t see it as much. But in retrospect now if you look at Oleruds numbers vs Carter it’s shocking we still won back to back with Cito at the helm. Lol.

    He won a ring with the best talent in baseball playing for him. Props to him. Players seem to like and respect him. Same for Cito. He won 2 rings benching Olerud for Carter. I wouldn’t say he a great manager either.

    Gibby put on a dumb ass sac bunt with 2 on GM 5 vs Texas. Bunted Right to third. They had wheel play on. Andrus dropped easy out on force at third throw from Beltre. Pure luck for us. Bad call. Would have changed whole outcome. Anyway the over use of Ezekiel. You could go on. But just time to move on IMO.

    LOL. Seeing if I could stir up the Gibby group hug. I’ll give him this. He didn’t sit the best reliever in the game in the 2016 wildcard game. A little more luck from Buck.

    Hard pass on Gibby for me. If winning and luck ever unrealistically created revisionist performance views on anyone formerly with the Jays, 15/16 did for Gibby. Thank you Elvis Andrus.

    They fired Bloom CBO in Boston. Not sure all the reasons public or non. Mostly since the RedSox finally won their WS rings, they don't take lack of playoff success well and heads roll, and usually higher up than the Mgr. Also GM switch up.

    I find most of this stuff a side show. Media narratives about how to get into players heads to get them to actually perform. It’s all mice nuts. The team has real some real issues to address. Wait for Ross’s next press conference for pablum. “Trust the process” “We like our batted ball numbers and feel confident it will normalize” “Our run prevention is trending well”. I’m sure Olerud could do a whole bit on it.

    I’d be ok with this I think as well. Need some dust to settle first to let this all sink in. I still think 2021 was probably our best shot and most dangerous team. Never know.
