  1. Ha! Still undecided. I don't think its an either or to go abort or try to deliver prematurely. The triage in our line up in addition to existing holes has given me doubt. The next couple weeks are telling and some big decisions to make before the deadline. I respect both views I've read on selling/building and going for it.
  2. Not sure. Just have seen enough player development and/or seemingly unlimited payroll spend for adding FA talent in our competition evidence for a sustained period to feel that way. Also feel the rash of injuries to, for example NYY SP, is an anomaly.
  3. Total agreement with this. Half pregnant gets us nowhere.
  4. Agree. There is no point in those deals if Stro is in it....we just subtract too much.
  5. I love the idea of a solid young cheap controllable rotation and its possible....who wouldn't? ...but even the As had to bring in guys like Kazmir and Chavez. At one point in 2010 we had Cecil, Morrow, Romero and Marcum who were all that...and Drabek was in the wings. But arms are just so volatile. Romero blew up...Cecil lost it if he ever had it....Morrow is .....well....Morrow and Marcum had arm trouble(s) and got moved and Drabek had another TJ after some pretty poor starts. Its a lot of risk for next year and 2016. So is giving up those prospect arms for short term additions that don't guarantee we win anything.
  6. 3 games out in AL east at AL Break...with players coming back in next 2-3 weeks. Tanaka out. Sell? Nope...time to go for it. (maybe...needs to be assessed over the next 12-14 days). Bailing on this season for next or the next is akin to Nationals decision to sit Strasburg thinking they were locks for 2013 post season play. I get the Norris/Sanchez etc prospect affinity but we kidding ourselves if we don't think our opposition with endless $ and prospects wont be reloading next year too.
  7. There is definitely too much eating of our own young going on in this brutal streak we are in. The Jays and this Board need the AS break!
  8. Man we need 2012 Colby to turn into 2013 Colby and then some in a hurry. He is approaching JPA territory offensively and his D has been weak also. IF he gets hot he can be a one man wrecking crew....big IF.
  9. With trade deadline July 31st a lot of analysis on that has to be done in next 2+ weeks. Prior the triage we have faced I felt we needed to buy some key pieces for IF and SP....maybe even pen.
  10. hmm....ya..sure...lol...down in "Texas" they must give Harvard MBAs out in Corn Flakes boxes pard-ner.
  11. that's actually pretty funny....GDT is a inane troll clusterf***. We are literally "limping" into AS Break thank f***!!
  12. Awful but a toss up with this one. http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/Toronto_Blue_Jays/General/GDT_v_Rays_July_13/ml-bluejays/94687.1?nav=messages Probably a lot of same "posters"
  13. Argh! Price continuing to mow through our Toronalo Blue Bisons line up! Nice to see Juan hit a couple balls well off LHP...and not just any LHP. Im not an RA hater but I do hate keeping Thole for him @ C taking up a roster spot we need right now.
  14. Trollpalooza RA keeping us in it. Not like Price isn't tough against EVERYONE.
  15. ....You were saying? (and wishing)
  16. Jesus...the curse of the Trop just doesn't get any easier with Price coming back..... Wish the boys could have taken Sat game. We have beaten Lester twice this year I think so there is hope.
  17. Agree. This Board is fine with the exception of GDT trollpalooza. The old board is becoming more of a shantytown daily. The whole concept of this Board would be forgein to most people. We talk to each other anonymously on the internet about ball. Why? Only because we are crazily obsessed baseball fans. A lot of my friends like ball and/or the Jays but they would NEVER spend time doing this. I just have a compelling need to talk and read, vent and debate ball (and occasionally insult people online). Its like a twitch. Its pretty crazy and kind of cool to think you don't know me from Adam, but I sent you to a restaurant in NS for a bowl of chowder and you went. Bizarre. Win the series today. Break the Trop curse. Go Jays!
  18. no argument against that from me! the debate on this board I see is what to give up to get one this year if we need one at all, because we may not really in it at all still with the injuries we have sustained. Others say no deal for frontline SP that costs top prospects and they look to the future young rotation to build on....
  19. I don't disagree that we paid an Ace price and he hasn't been what he was for the Mets and he sure hasn't been an "ace". But whats done is done. Now he is a very solid 2-4 SP depending on the stretch he is in. Some Mets fans are probably complaining about their return and saying "We were getting top prospects who would be MLB impacting for our ACE". D'arnaud looking better since recalled and Syndergaard may be as billed. We will see.
  20. We aimed and we misfired today big time. Got to bounce back tomorrow. 2/3 ain't bad!
  21. This GDT blows to be sure with troll stench...but this Forum is a beacon of light compared to the old Forum...THAT is a shithole now.
