  1. "Morrow remains a tantalizing wild card for the Blue Jays with the potential to provide a significant boost to the rotation or bullpen, or not return at all" No s***. Tell me something I didn't know...this same quote parallels his entire career. I have 0 expectations so if he comes back and does anything positive its icing. He has been mostly awful since the oblique issue took him down in 2012. He has been a chandelier his entire career.
  2. The pessimism from some around this team never fails to amaze me. We are .5 out of WC and up today 5-0 on Bosox looking at 3 out of 4 using an ad hoc Bisonish lineup. I get the frustration but we are still very much in it with some key lumber and leather on its way back soon. An equal reasonable argument for making big move(s) and moving if, come maybe prospects to go for a flag that flies forever can be made. Tough choices.
  3. I cant imagine Mets fans are still over the moon over these 2 they got for RA. We will see. I think Noah will be 1 or 2 if he stays healthy.
  4. Ya. Gibbers wanted to meet to seriously fight me once at a gate at Rogers Center, on the old Board, when he was arguing with me over Snider who he thought was going to be the 2nd coming of Christ. Bitter sometimes and has too much disdain for avg fan who pays the bills IMO but he knows his ball. I think he weights too heavily on prospects, but respect his point of view. He was over the top on D'arnaud who may become what he expected. Catchers often develop later.
  5. I kind of thought that but was too lazy to look it up. Thanks. Just goes to show that sometimes these GMs aren't so dumb after all. Jiminez was a major 4 yr commitment and has not been great. I didn't see Stro making the contribution he has so far this year but any winning team has to have some positive surprises. I still liked the 1 year deal for Santana and with Hutch seemingly running out of gas we could use that down the stretch.
  6. If you compare what we could have gotten for FA starter against 4/5 performance in our rotation don't you think that would have been worth + 2/3 games W so far? Puts us in tie.
  7. Like me you have changed view. The rash of major injuries and the depth or of holes made me change from going for it to 2. Still pissed we didn't make these moves in the off season as I believe we wont have as weak a division next couple years. Still a bit torn on direction for that reason.
  8. Tied with NYY and 3 games back of BAL with Lind, Edwin and Lawrie return not too far off. 8 days to trade deadline. NYY and Bosox are sure to add to their rosters heavily 2015 and 2016. Cubs and Padres have made the moves discussed ad naseum. Hutch looks tired. The rest of the rotation is meh still and the pen has been quite bad. Sanchez looked better than most expected but only 2 innings. Means 0. 2nd, pen, D and the rotation all have issues to address as well as RHH against LHP. (our competition also has lots of holes) Reyes has been on fire offensively and Colby has been worse than 2012. Melky and Jose B pretty steady. Is AA going to: 1. Stand pat and hope they get healthy and keep looking better as they have the last couple games. Look to future and cheap young rotation. 2. Tinker with the line up with some modest additions (Prado? ish) to fill holes and hope that will keep us interesting and in it. 3. Sell off major assets for rebuild looking to add for a build around a future young cheap rotation we bring up. 4. Make a big move(s) for run at it moving key prospects now that the market has been established. 5. Pull a Carter Alomar deal few see coming where major assets get swapped. Probably 2. We look more like the team that got so hot the last couple games with good D and speed and some clutch hits. Going to be interesting.
  9. Im eager to see a 300+ innings sample size.
  10. RA pisses me off but that was a clutch performance!....props. huge.
  11. Him being out has so highlighted his value to this team on D and to add a credible RHB to bottom of line up. And he always goes 100%
  12. f***....hate an 8 pitch leadoff BB...asking for f***ing trouble. Curling talk in background making it more painful
  13. Kind of analogous although through 8 seasons each Clay has better WAR....I think he has been more consistent/successful overall but still frustrating for Bosox fans too Im sure.
  14. Jose so due for a hot HR stretch... we need to take advantage of Gose HBP and steal. Cmon Navarro!
  15. One thing you can NEVER say about the GDT is that its reactionary....very calm...thoughtful...reflective....analytical yes.
  16. Nice job Thole...I was just about to slag you for a wasted roster spot tagged to RA... "Thole can juice a ball the other way"...Tabby. lol....are you kidding me? Once every 150 ABs maybe.
  17. came in from Calgary for it...watched it with my 5 year old and I think Middelbrooks hit 3 HRs.
  18. Ladies and Gentlemen....your "ace" for the Torontalo Blue Bisons RA Dickey.
  19. LOL..Isn't he Puerto Rican and he looks wasted. Usain Bolt had a pic with 3 stewardesses or "flight attendants". Tops this but still not bad Rios.
  20. There are people in LV who handicap and develop probability scenarios that set odds to try and make money from people who bet. They don't base this off of fans opinions...they do it off of assessing teams and their opposition factually and statistically.
  21. Good, nobody should ever be "untouchable" when it comes deals. AA should consider all options/offers for any player(s). I still remember my reaction to the Carter/Alomar deal all that time ago. Didn't like it at first because the guys we gave up I liked and they were productive. Turned out ok.
  22. Ok...if we accept LV bookies just follow the fans and trends not predicting results (which seems odd) Id also say a significant number of talking heads and so called experts also called them in 2013.
