  1. That's what we said. KC is on a tear playing great ball at the right time. They are a good team, but their BABIP is insane. Likely they roll on through the WS.
  2. That article is really interesting to read now...with the benefit of hindsight.
  3. The GG awards are mostly a joke. Not sure why anyone cares ever.
  4. Ya. Watching him celebrate our wins full on swearing his head off and jumping up and down endeared me to him. That may sound silly but that was the un-politician part of him unbridled. Having said that this is a business and he chose to walk. I don't blame him for it and he will do well. I have faith in Shapiro's approach taking the bull by the horns and its on him succeed or fail.
  5. Oh well...ho hum...another boring and entirely predictable Blue Jays off season underway.
  6. For whatever reason fair or not there seems to be something to this. His season was statistically incredible. It's part of why some guys actually supported Pigf***er.
  7. He is shooting for the stars and hoping to coach 3B for the BoSox
  8. exactly. not worried about AAs employment options elsewhere one iota
  9. That's pretty funny....what I'm hearing of AA's comments they are very "milquetoast".....as expected. Taking high road....not cratering anything with anyone. About what Id expect from AA. Props.
  10. guess I shoulda spell checked that lol...well you know what I mean.
  11. This will be sanitized milk toast...will take awhile for the reality to get out.
  12. Argh!!! King's was hurtful enough!
  13. I can't see any of us enamoured with a 40 year old KB arm. But someone has to start for us in 2016 And every time I watch Noah pitch that feeling seem to get stronger.
  14. Doesn't really change anything. RA stays....the other 2 gone. JD arb and Martins deal is back end loaded. Net $ gain if any doesn't get Price signed or even close.
  15. It still shocks me how many new fans say to me "I hope we sign Price...he likes it in TOR". Any casual that can look up ages online and do simple math can add up the cost of Martin; Tulo ; Jose 2017 ;JD post arb; Edwin 2017 etc etc and know we are not signing Price and probably not Estrada.
  16. 1000% agree. Ballsy as hell and I like it whatever happens. He isn't stupid and knows he just took it all on himself.
  17. I have no problem with this. Shapiro is pissing in all four corners and will put his mark on this org. Lets hope he does a good job. AA's choice to leave and I don't blame him. No hard feelings.
  18. ^ this. These guys all have big egos and need them for a tough job. The Flames and the Leafs have these clusterf*** organizations now with GM's and multiple senior advisors like Brian Burke. All guys who are used to being in charge. It's a recipe for infighting and poor decision making. AA is out and Shapiro is the man. Let's roll with that. It's going to be fine...or its not...in which case he will be go at some point. AA did some good work but the state of our Org is no panacea.
  19. I'm ok with this. He chose to leave. He leaves behind a decent 2016 team if we shell out $ for pitching but 2017 is murkier. His record is marginal and mixed. It tells me Shapiro will be very much in charge and I'm ok if we live and die with that. This decision makes me more excited for 2016. As far as the reaction the sheep will be pissed if we don't do well and blame it on Shapiro and the loss of Ninja. If we do well, they will forget AA in a second.
  20. Me too. That's over the top. Scolded? He may have said something about a different direction...who knows. But you would have to be a massive dick to "scold" someone in your first meeting. Wouldn't be remotely professional.
  21. Did Reynolds just compare Cespedes to Willie Mays?
  22. I know. So frustrating. When things going well that's off his glove or by him and we score 2 getting the big hit we needed.
  23. You aren't alone. They have to cycle in some younger cheaper players. The BoSox did that this season and I think they will be tough next year. You mentioned the Cards. There are a small handful of teams. But as you know its not easy, especially in todays game, to build a perennial contender.
  24. I think we all want that. But its not an either/or deal. Watching 2 teams in the WS who made moves to bolster giving up assets to get Cespedes, Cueto and Zobrist etc. In essence we did some of this with guys like Edwin and Jose that other orgs gave up on that blossomed with the Jays and were signed to under market deals. Travis, Pompey, Stro, Osuna, Pillar are all young assets under control that should all make solid contributions.
