  1. They will be writing revisionist history on the AA deadline deals for years. So many supported them and enjoyed the run that will turn on it with any fall back in 2016-17. I remember that 85 year well. It was exciting but it was also a different era. Those yrs were also tempered with a hell of a lot of heartbreak as we couldn't get over the top until Alomar clubbed that ball off of Eck. That deal that brought him here was also controversial. Its hard to compare that time with 2015.
  2. The point is he is a loser on the net who gets his kicks out of trolling Jays fans on the net. Waste of time....and skin.
  3. KC is a really good team and there is no defense for luck and the roll they are on since Gm 4 against HOU. This gm was the series. Mets had it.
  4. That kind of deal makes sense. If he can stay healthy he is still dominant.
  5. Ya. I was referring to performance vs expectations from the narrative around his entry in the league. I know what he has been. too bad injuries have slowed him down some. He has nasty stuff.
  6. Maybe he will end up like AJB and stick around and be effective longer than we think? Still wont ever be what many predicted.
  7. Yup. who gives a fk anyway. See that Colon? 10 pitches to Perez and K's him with only one of the 10 pitches in the zone. unreal command.
  8. Nice job on the mound by Jabba the Hut against Perez. Battle of the big men.
  9. Really is...and all the innings mgm didn't really make a difference. He was the Thor of his time entering league.
  10. Zobrist is a such a valuable piece. The guy is always making a play....or getting a big hit...or BBing.
  11. lol. How is your Espanola? I do think he still hates the fans in Tor. I'm sure he loved that hit to make it 3-1 he got off Sanchez in Game 6....f***er.
  12. Royals are eating it a bit now. Tide turning. Looked like he barely swung on that 2nd HR.
  13. lol...and Randy Johnson + on the bump for KC
  14. Saw him at the end of innings he wouldn't give the ball to fans in the stands in Tor. Would be silly but because it happened a couple times at least I wonder if he still holds hard feelings.
  15. What's new? That's been his consistent refrain since christ was a cowboy.
  16. That's not what I inferred. I don't think anyone should be sacrosanct. Cecil isn't our only FA in 2017. Jose and Edwin are also. Shapiro is going to have re-evaluate the whole roster. You are the one who proposed trading Cecil and I was proposing extending him. I was agreeing with you in the sense that for the right price anyone should be available. I don't think Cecil was untouchable under AA.
  17. ha. remember I'm old bud. My handle is based on Big Cecil Fielder but I do want to see our current Cecil remain a Jay. He was about as dominant as ive ever seen us have as a reliever 2nd half.
  18. What are you talking about? I wasn't slagging AA and thought he was a decent GM overall. I just meant that organizationally its sometimes easier to look at everything from ground zero when the is a clear and complete changing of the guard. To me that's just a fact and not something I'm cheerleading.
  19. There would be a better chance Carlos Correa is our SS next season.
  20. Ya. I get it. With AA gone I'm sure Shapiro will be re-evaluating everything and he has unfettered ability to do that. There should be nobody sacrosanct.
  21. If you trade him and the notion of throwing Osuna and Sanchez into the rotation becomes reality....who is left as reasonably effective arms in the pen aside from Hendriks?
  22. Luck has turned and Mets are winning this series. Noah beating them at their own game last night. He made some adjustments during the game (much like Price did in game 6) that were very effective. I look to Mets starters to bounce back in their 2nd time around.
  23. Yes. But that's the point of an extension. Hedges risk for him in case 2016 falls off and hedges risk for us that he has an awesome 2016 and walks for big dough elsewhere. He should take 3/15.
  24. Apologies if there is another thread on this. We have seen Cecil longer than anyone. He has had stretches of dominance in 2013 and 2015 and he has established that his stuff is more than a loogy. 2.5MM 2015 and FA 2017. Arb eligible again this season. We don't want to spend a ton on the pen but he is one reliable arm. I'd like to see us extend him on a 3 yr deal. Bad idea?
