    That's on AA. Bad signing. Not his fault someone offered a MIF like him a 3 year deal.

    hmmmm.....maybe. But that's a big stick gone for 2017 when we lose other big stick(s). Gotta trust in Shapiro to make the right call on these things and balance it out. Travis will take up some of the offensive loss we hope.

    I agree. Our team took off when we anchored it with Tulo/Goins MIF. Tulo/Travis is even better. When we lose Edwin and/or Jose Tulo (if he can be that 5 WAR player again) becomes even more important.

    sorting through the tea leaves and reading the entrails of all the non speak...we are finally seeing the pre-cooked nature of all this emerge.

    He has to wait until the body is a little cold at least before announcing. Politicians have nothing on the grin f***ing double speak and subterfuge surrounding this departure that all have had to do......to make it look less contrived for the fans (the ones that aren't very bright).

    Exactly. QO 's are worse case scenarios. For a mid rotation arm we give up our 3/4 mashers in a year we have a shot to contend?

    He has been gone ever since "who makes GDT" wars. I hope he returns as the odd good dust up will liven up the off season. Mind you this one has already been lively thus far. It's f***ing Day 1 for and already Shapiro has hundreds of pages of trade and mgm ideas proposed by posters on this board lol.

    Tons from Calgary and the West use AZ as snowbirds and for vacation. Would love to see a move there. Caught KC- San Fran - Rockies and LAD there for spring training this past off season. Excellent facilities.

    Its a combination of luck and skill. They got hot at the right time and we didn't. Cespedes was a huge part of what got the Mets to the post season but sucked in the world series. Cueto sucked for KC in the reg season mostly but throws a WS 2 hitter against the Mets. KC deserved it but they were also insanely lucky. But that's how WS winners roll. Once you are in the playoffs it a crap shoot.

    They know its a business but trust me if Jose is really pissed about it we will know. He wasn't shy when nothing was done at the deadline in 2014 and his reaction to the Tulo deal was "we need pitching". He is always a little veiled but his message is pretty clear when he is speaking out against something. Rogers would not be able to muzzle him.

    I saw an interview with JD on AA departure. He kept it very high road....said that AA reached out to him. He was thankful to AA but didn't seem overly concerned at all on the face of it.

    Yup...even if its a fairy tale that has ended it is/was an incredible story I loved. The guy just kept hitting and he did it in the post season taking Smoak's job against RHP.
