  1. Plan is not working! Time for Plan B...or C.
  2. Hope so. Even though we are at an excellent W pace, and its baseball, I came to TOR for all 4 O's gms expecting 3/4. Yesterday was a painful watch. You know what they say about expectations? They are premeditated resentments lol.
  3. I think we will. Yanks are just due for regression. They are solid but they aren't THIS good. A lot will depend on the bats approach against their tough pitching.
  4. Sign me up for the guarantee the Jays play even better after June. Do W's not count the same in June as they do in September? (We missed the playoffs by 1 game last year largely cause...June).
  5. True. But I don't find much solace in our Angels results, because the guys we are competing against also crushed the Angels, and are also destroying the weaker teams piling up Ws. We kinda have to do both too or it's wildcard time. Hopefully at home.
  6. I question myself lots when he is getting rocked, but much more so than Borucki, I just don't want to give up on him even with this injury history. With his stuff I feel like, just with Gollum in the Lord of the Rings, he still has an important role to play in the end.
  7. I think the FO has gotten a generous autopsy on Ryu, for Boras reasons etc. We got 1.5/4 seasons really and 4.5 fWAR seasons for $68M (cut back cause '20) Not the Roark signing to be sure, but worthy of some hindsight fair criticism given Ryu age/injury history and soft stuff.
  8. Super duper. 15-20%. There is always the feint hope clause. We have guys like Springer and Jano who cant stay on the field in their careers too. Ryu gone for the season. Mayza was out. Every team is going to fight injuries. Yanks aren't the only teams with injuries. We almost lost Vlad night - HBP. Lets beat the Rays at the home in the WC series.
  9. 32M a year in Kooch and Ryu. Hope the Strip can keep ripping. Kooch is like watching RA Dickey for me. Just dislike it most days he is on the bump. Can we all agree Richards needs to be done in any close game until he earns leverage back.
  10. COULD. Ya. I know. Sure. Lots can happen. It's baseball. Hey, DET could still win their division. I'm just talking pure math and probability. It's highly improbable, not impossible.
  11. Very exciting. In 2015 I travelled to go to 1st 2 games vs TEX. We lost both and Brett Cecil = Sucked. Never made Gm 5 but Jose smash video still gives me chills. I consider 2021 a significant lost opportunity missing playoffs by a game (when we didn't address glaring holes soon and/or well enough). In a year ATL could win WS without Acuna Jr, Ozuna and Soroka. We had so many unicorn seasons we didn't capitalize on. To not get past wild card series 2022 would be a massive disappointment for the org, burning another year or our core. OTOH there is no reason we can't be the 2022 ATL.
  12. The math and probabilities say the Division is gone with them at 42-16. Even with softer schedule ahead for us. Yanks are having a magical season where bad hitting catchers get walk off singles for you, and everything goes right. They have a lot of talent and they are producing collectively. Judge is carrying a load and doing what we hoped Vlad would, and hasn't been able to manage yet. It sucks lol. I cant watch them. Lets win the home field wild card!
  13. Nice to see a small crack in the Nestor armour finally. You gotta think he is susceptible to adjustments. Much like Gausman is. The Yanks are unconscious right now. Pisses me off. I like watching them only when they f*** up. I remember last year their fans were screaming for Boones head.
  14. Hands down we won the "five tool" Derek Fisher trade sweepstakes. Actually, he had 6 tools because he almost could catch a ball with his head.
  15. Can he atone for that E? Let us all bow our heads...
  16. dont feel bad. we needed to trade him for two relievers to miss the playoffs by a game.
  17. RHH bad for LHH bad type deal. out of the frying pan into the fire.
  18. Had my fill of Richards walking more than 4.5/9 and giving up bombs as one of our trusted leverage guys.
  19. Agree. But the math is the math as are the probabilities. Its assuming regression by the Yanks and a boost for us given schedule.
  20. What a disaster of a start. Inconsistent Kooch. Its going to be Thornton time and then empty out the pen.
  21. Just looking at the math on our chances to win the Division. Depressing probabilities even if you assume significant regression for the Yanks rest of the way. They got off to an incredible start banking W's and we were just pretty good. Every L we shrug off to it being early and we will heat up later matters. We'll see what the math says nearing the deadline. Its going to influence FO approach one would think significantly in terms of what we are shooting for for playoffs.
  22. No rush. It sucks Jano cant stay healthy. No luck. At least Kirk is playing well on 0 and D. If he gets hurt we are "right f***ed" as pikey Brad Pitt from Snatch would call it.
  23. LOL. not many in the NHL now that you put it that way.
  24. Musing about what a story Kirk is. Short, poor, fat catcher kid discovered in Mexico who just can flat out rake defying odds. And his D is a lot better than most expected. Hard to keep in mind he is only 23. Not wanting to over react to a hot streak but you have to think his value is increasing dramatically given his D abilities starting to come through. 1.6 fWAR already! It was much more impactful than Kirk, but I remember when Fernando Valenzuela came up in 80-81 for LAD. Another short, tubby Mexican who came out of nowhere to take the NL by storm defying the odds looking up at the sky in his delivery and throwing a screwball. I love baseball for stories like these guys.
