    What were the team splits vs LHP and RHP? I think in the playoffs, that success vs RHP ground came to a halt. We didn't win. We did pick up RHH bat cause we were struggling vs LHP but they released him over Collabello. Guy was a cancer. Danny Valencia. 1. Pens and pitchers are even better and more specialized than 2015 (nevermind this ball). 94 now is the avg 4S FB and tons of wipe out breaking balls. I think we are seeing the evidence of the impact of this against our bats. 2. #1 gets worse in the playoffs, if you get there. 3. The main current AL East competition Rays and Yanks have plus pens. 4. OTOH in 2016 both Matt Bush and Andrew Miller pretty much owned us. RHP and LHP lol. I agree the most important element is the quality of the hitters, but I'll never buy that being able force the pitcher to handle both sides of the plate impact bats is not a huge advantage in 2022, especially in the playoffs when you face the best.

    3/4 of the season left. At some point odds are he is going to get hot and numbers can change quickly this few PAs in. Look at Trevor Storys'. Sooner rather than later please.

    Thanks. I was in Grandpa Ranty mode this am and didn't even stop to think about that. Totally forgot. 3 better than 1. Still. This team can win the f***ing Division and lets do that. My kingdom for an impact LHH (s), and thats probably what it would cost right now. We kind of hoped Teo coming back would help Vlad et al, but so far no bueno. 5/50 and chasing the same pitches off the plate most of the others are. I just think the Leagues have made a big adjustment on how to pitch them, which is made easier they face so many RHH, and then junk from the left side. They should wear the jacket for any ball scorched up the middle or to the right side in the air for awhile, or if they beat the shift.(grasping at straws) Makes me think back so fondly about WAMCO. Should have been something more like AMOCW but it was still a devastatingly balanced top of the order. Wonder what it would sans Cito in todays game?

    I have more faith in upside from Biggio than I do with Tapia. It's dereliction of duty by the FO to give him so many at bats in a supposed win now season. He does virtually nothing well. We needed a LHH impact bat (s) and we didn't get it. Marcus left which was a lot of our production (I know he has been awful in TEX). People can say it's early but it's not. Yes, we can get hot and go on a blistering streak. That's not a strategy. That's a rose coloured glasses prayer. Yesterday was a great opportunity to move up a game and we blew it. Again. We know these guys are going to improve and normalize (whatever that is, to take Olerud's point) but the Division may be gone by then. A one and done wild card game can't be our objective.

    Me too lol. We laughed hard. Another gut buster every time is "Walter's Plan" for the handoff. The best.

    Watched that the other day with son. First time he had seen it. Couple parts with John Goodman we were laughing so hard. Loved it. Big Lebowski is such a classic.

    Consistent off season proponent of adding at least 1 impact LHH to this line up. Don't agree that it doesn't matter "as long as the RHH bats are all good". They tried to get Ramirez. Failed. Schwarber went for 4/8 0 PHI. Traded Rowdy (understandable at time given bullpen blood on the floor). It remains a glaring issue. We are just too easy to pitch to, virtually all one way. Will be very tough to fill the hole at this point in season materially. This had to have gotten done off season. Zimmer, Collins, Tapia is shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.

    This movie is Ishtar or Jaws 9 quality so far, as it pertains to the offence. I am beyond done with behind the plate balls and strikes being called.

    Yep. To be fair Vlad took a pretty big swing at setting high expectations with his trailer/movie comment and Rogers marketed hell out of it. Walk the talk now.

    5 outs. Teo swings at ball 6-8 inches outside for dribbler to 1B. Brutal.

    Game is not over. Just feels like it. 6 outs. But winning a series against any MLB team is always solid. What kills are series like the one losing 3/4 to CLE.

    Ump all of a sudden giving every borderline pitch. Huge pitch here. And like almost always slider away and a K. What a missed opportunity.

    This will be the key if and when they break out. Springer and Chapman using the open side. It will change how they are pitched if they can use it.
