I know he has been hot but is anyone loving these Kirk ABs and pitch selection. The number of pitches he is seeing and lack of chase is just unreal. Fun to watch. Kind of old school.

The Jeffers K that FB ran in off the plate after starting on it. Love to see more of that. Huge movement.

Bo. Wow. Beat by two 92 MPH FBs center cut but sits back and destroys that breaking ball. That was a pretty swing.

Ya, I agree. His elevated FB gets whacked. It has movement but too often leaks into a no bueno spot and crushed.

Riding a Carpenter dead cat bounce. Literally everything going right for NYY. Severino lighting it up today. 10 K and 1 hit touching 99 with filthy breaking ball. Not fair. They aren't a .712 team!

I never liked the Baez signing. Way way too much chase. Plus D. I thought the Semien deal was a crazy price of admission but never expected close to this drop off. Having said that he is capable of getting extremely hot and coming out with a decent season still. Baez has always been a high K rate horrendous pitch selection guy who runs into one 20-30 times a year. Over rated.

Hope not. Would be nice if Pearson was able to show us something once rehabbed - he has had his moments but too often looks like Merryweather has in 22, with a hard, but straight FB and poor command. Doesn't maintain the V well. Too much talent though to give up on. So many guys come into their own around his age...or not.

That sucks. Signing an aging soft tosser was always a bit of a risk. 4.5 fWAR from him so far. Gonna cost us $67mm over 4 with the shortened 2020. Hope he can come back this year but he just may be done. -

Ya, it was wild. Reece irony that he hit the ball well and then didn't run hard home allowing Lourdes to throw out the runner and the run. The teams both ground down each others starter. It was fun.

Got to town for first live game of the season. Heart attack salad! They worked over Gausman good and chased short arm. Kirk steps up. Vlad looked lost. King Julian barely escaped bringing us disaster after looking early 21 to the first two batters. Chappy and Espy DP pretty much saves the game. Phew! Nice 2022 style W Jays!

This one stings a bit. He did a camp in Calgary with my kid and others. He was just great over 2 days. Nice kid. Great arm and the org stuck with him a long time. He has the stuff, if he can learn to command it, to have a sustained dead cat bounce, but we gave him so many chances. Disappointing but its the right call. -

It is a long season and Berrios track record suggests he will figure it out. By the same token once can expect at least some regression from Manoah and Gausman.
