  1. 2-2. We just left 2 more in scoring position.
  2. Huge catch by Teo. D is helping Strip anyway.
  3. I didn't see it well. Looked like he froze in case IF was in behind him on liner and took a step back. Did he not run hard to 3B after it was clear it was by IF and dropping?
  4. Frustrating. Bo took 2 FBs running back over plate and swung at only one that was off the plate away. Good pitching. But man.
  5. When it's going bad...hell of a throw.
  6. True. But its a little easier to swallow a weird series like that when you have been playing .650 ball. We have not been playing .650 ball and need to pull out of this recent nose dive starting tonight.
  7. The last guy I'm gonna flag for missing a hitters pitch on this team is Kirk. He rarely misses when he gets something to crank.
  8. I thought he would have been great in this line up. Lots of K but also lots of BB and always a threat. Sucks on D but can get by in LF/DH. When we pay Ryu 4/80 and Kooch 3/36 it didnt seem like that much. No idea if he would have come here but that LH thump in this line up would have been devastating for pitchers to face. Our offense has been good but I have envy over the LH bats in the Astros/NYY and BoSox line up. I think that lack of impact from the left side is more important than most (taking nothing away from Biggio resurgence).
  9. Fans expect a lot offensively from Chappy because of his D rep, but as you point out he had 4 seasons between a 110-139 wRC+ in OAK. He has a good stick! Maybe his hip injury has pushed him back. Votto and lots of players have had temp to permanent issues post lower half leg/hip surgery. But his underlying 2022 numbers are pretty fricking good. A big performance results 2nd half from him would be great for him on his next deal, and for us.
  10. Didn't he burn jerseys in Chicago too? I forget the details. Gotta be honest I hope he is a complete f*** up for the BoSox this year. He has had his run and fun.
  11. Where is Laika when you need him?
  12. Dont pretend to understand the D stats well. They aren't giving Chapman much value on D runs saved on Savante or much for fWAR. Has he just not been great or is this just an anomaly in how the data is calculated? For me, the eye test is impressive. He makes a lot of hard plays look easier than they are and his release and arm look great.
  13. I don't think AA gives a s*** about this Board. He has a ring and an impressive resume of deals and signings. He also has some duds like anyone in the business long enough. It's been debated endlessly on here. He took risks and he led bringing this franchise back to life in 15 and 16 after an endless drought. The MIA deal and Thor/TD for Dickey trade will never be forgiven by many no matter the positives of his tenure here.
  14. Fell asleep watching game on sofa. Woke up to see I missed a Bo HR and 6 outs by Cimber. Love it.
  15. . I know but his OBP is basically his BA. He has a little speed. Be nice to see him take even his career avg BBs and on base more. Chew up more pitch count etc. (I'm trying to be diplomatic. He is s*** and the type of player I don't like watching much)
  16. What a hacker Tapia is. BBing less than 4% of the time.
  17. Hmm. That's an interesting take hombre. If nothing else the next few weeks are going to be intriguing. It is a crossroads for this Mgm. We squandered 2021 and burned a year. Will they go for it, be half pregnant, or fiddle f*** around in the bargain bin?
  18. Lol. Well played. I'm laughing. I'm also crying because it's accurate.
  19. Thats glass half full and those are good examples. Dansby is another. OTOH a free swinger like Baez never changed much. I hope you are right. I have the opposite view of Bo. Mostly because of his chase and pitch selection. 5.1 fWAR is more likely to be his pinnacle just my guess. His D metrics aren't bad and he plays a premium position so he will benefit from that if he stays healthy and plays 150+. He definitely is a hard worker and seems like a confident guy. I actually think thats part of his issue at the plate. Great bat to ball skills and believes he can square up almost anything. So far this year he is mediocre in the 2 spot. Love to see him moved down for higher OBP.
  20. I've been chasing that high, since the night of the Carter walk off, for 29 years. Watched it on TV in Whitehorse, Yukon.
  21. Reliever volatility? How about SP: Ryu, Kukuchi, Roark to date = $140M = 3.3 fWAR Ray, Matz 2021 = $13M = 6.7 fWAR
  22. amen to that. could be worse i guess. at least we have 2 rings. SEA came in at the same time and still has 0.
  23. Missed that. Rivera betting on Kirk 7th percentile sprint speed?
