  1. Beautiful play there by Bo. Thank god.
  2. We are so f***ing snakebit right now.
  3. Ok. Still ahead. Bend but don't break boys. Tack a couple on right here.
  4. Once in year you can believe and understand but twice? That's so bizarre.
  5. Absolutely. Gave up a couple soft hits on great pitches down to not get through that inning. He was more than you could ask for in that role today.
  6. Nice! Now lets score this runner on 3B!
  7. Watching the SP for DET today vs CHISOX. Time warp. Had to double take. Drew Hutchison through 3 scoreless for DET. He brought Francisco Liriano, Harold Ramirez and Reese McGuire in 16. Liriano became Teo.
  8. Fair enough. I don't think 7 years is that short of a runway in baseball factually, not that thats good or bad. Organizationally, coupled with resources, they are getting rope. I find the narrative the franchise was left completely on its back in 15/16 annoying. They had some building blocks with Vlad and although the team/org was rebuilding the fan base at least remained largely re-engaged coast to coast because of 15 & 16 runs & Vlad. We had stars like Delgado, Clemens and Doc and for 20 years fans tuned out in the wilderness. This excitement is revenue potential and made it easier to play in the top tier FA market and loosen the budget to extend Berrios etc. They had 2 years of JD etc...some chips were there. I'm not a Montoyo fan, but he hasn't been much issue this year relatively. Its easy to overreact. I think your hot take when we got eliminated last season by a game was one of the best of the year. That was a dark moment and lost opp. Spanky posts part of it every post lol. This has been a bleak stretch and sometimes a fan needs to vent. I'm interested to see what happens. ATL took off at the deadline in '21. Peachy is possible.
  9. Rogers is going to need to rehire Mike Wilner. He could spin anything glass half full.
  10. Hell of a sequence and location execution to France by Yimi.
  11. It’s solid and mostly under performing. I’d like to see some order changes and we miss impact LH balance IMO. It’s pretty tough to watch lately and the bases drunk no runs sucked.
  12. 94 centre cut and gone. Fk. Seattle pen is going to play tonight again.
  13. Crazy stuff. Hadn’t seen him before.
  14. What's our % scoring a run with a runner on 3B less than 2 outs stack up in the league? We seem to be allergic to scoring that run. Credit to Ray coming back, but that was bad.
  15. 3 great at bats. Keep the line moving boys.
  16. 2 good ABs. I think Ray got robbed on Teo. He is making some tough f***ing pitches on the black.
  17. Both SP look locked in. Ray vintage 2021 tonight. V seems to be back to normal for Alek.
  18. On same page. I just hope its the latter part of those 3 deals to see decline. Ryu's or Kooch the decline was early. 2/3 have been under performing already. Springer has been better than average when in line up but not what we hoped yet in 22 and Berrios has been an enigma. Gausman overall has been great.
  19. Not so sure. Depends on term/aav. Think Prince Fielder. Sandoval etc. Agree on Bo 100%.
  20. After '21 some people were flippantly throwing out $300M and $400M long term deals numbers for Vlad and Bo. With the way they have looked the first half of '22 thats out the window for now IMO. Vlad has been well above average but not elite and Bo has been average on offense and below on D.
  21. I get it for sure but I tend to agree with Jim. Lets see what is around at the deadline to pick up, and at what cost its available. If the under performance of so many starts to correct statistically, it may look a lot different over the next 20 gms. What concerns me is maybe this isn't underperformance by the likes of Vlad/Bo etc. etc. Maybe this is what it is and '21 were anomalies. Who knows? Bo in the 2 spot is making me crazy.
  22. 100%. I wrote you an eeyore PM vent the day after the season ended last year as i was so frustrated about all the "next year" "building block" season. All the talk about having to play not at home when net net they also benefitted from those minor league parks with the long ball. ya da ya da. Development and improvement is not linear. Look at SFG this year. You have to take advantage of things lining up. I don't yet buy this FO is building a perennial contender. Too many big decisions coming on more big contracts, deal misses and not enough pitching development. I thought we had such cheap, unicorn seasons from so many in 2021 we squandered it all. That team in '21 with a LH thumper and some pen filth would have been tough to play against. So far its playing out in my worst case scenario concerns as another core year is burning. I remain hopeful I'm wrong and it turns around. I'm not interested in selling everything for a 3 gm away series wildcard. Expectations were much higher. I'm in TOR in July a couple times for meetings and Im not going to any more games unless they start playing better. Just a waste of time/money. I went to the 4 gms to split with BAL 2-2. Wasn't pretty. They are still in it to be sure but they are what their record is so far.
  23. Would agree. He must be smiling so big. That. The baserunning, hitting with RISP and eventually having to hand the ball to Romo for an L sums up season so far. Another season of praying for a late run because we didn't bank enough winnable games earlier awaits us. At least last year we could all cling to run differential. Frustrating.
  24. Yep. And got Vlad to K on 3 sliders down. Having pen envy. That was some nasty stuff. Takes Cimber 2 pitches to get to 103.
