  1. Does Standing Room literally mean standing?
  2. Traditionally pickles are pallet cleansers. You eat them between bites of other things. If you go to a real deli, your pickle will always be served separately. That being said, I don't really mind the taste of pickles in the sandwich and it just makes sense for fast food place to do it that way. I love pickles unconditionally.
  3. Hell no. Thebestpageintheuniverse.net nails this one. The bun is the same deflated fast-food bun you can expect from other s***** franchises like McDonald's, with a sinkhole-like depression in the middle. The pickles are sparsely placed on the bun; you get exactly two, meted by a tight-fisted employee. I wouldn't be surprised if they weighed each slice. Often the two pickles are grabbed together and placed on the bun so they're overlapping, further reducing the surface area of the sandwich that includes a bite of their stingy pickles. And the chicken itself? BORING. The breast is the most overrated part of a chicken.
  4. I don't think Duquette does a bad job with the hand he's been dealt. He has a meddlesome owner and his team, despite some success, is a very unattractive destination for free agents because of some of the contract s*** they've pulled. I'm sure he would like to sign some high OBP guys but he's somewhat limited to the same motley crew of players with a devalued skillset because better players find better places to play. That being said his comments about Jose are a patently ridiculous non-denial denial. "I’m not going to go tell our fans that we’re courting Jose Bautista for the Orioles because they’re not going to be happy." Notice that he doesn't say that they weren't courting Bautista just that he's not going to tell his fans that. I bet he got rejected by Bautista and now he's pulling some "Well I never really wanted you anyways" ********.
  5. I really don't get the Chick-Fill-A love. I was excited to try it and then it turned out to taste just like every other mediocre fast food chicken sandwich I ever had except that most of those had more toppings to cover up the blandness.
  6. I like Glory but though it may have felt like a lot of people, it was mostly just him.
  7. The Yankees hired and fired Billy Martin 5 times. That's got to be a record. He did manage other teams too though. His managing career went as follows: Twins Tigers Rangers Yankees Yankees A's Yankees Yankees Yankees
  8. This seems like quite a bit of rain to be playing through.
  9. Is it though? The strikeouts have been a constant.

Damn. What a game. I was just about to switch to the WBC and then they went on that run.

Is it just me or shouldn't the goalie have had that?
  12. I doubt it's Schwarber. They don't have a position for him so it would have been really easy for them to trade him away ostensibly for roster reasons without anyone batting an eyelash. I'd guess it's still Lackey despite the denial. You can't just keep giving people guesses. At some point, you just lie about it.
  13. In a vacuum, I would agree with this but I don't think it would be a good idea to make a change now.
  14. Ah yes... I knew I was forgetting someone. I think Hillenbrand might have been a legit clubhouse cancer but that's easy to say when you're just speculating from the outside.
  15. I don't even know who he really has issues with. We all know about the incidents with Lilly and Pillar but Lilly has stated that they actually had a great relationship and that incident was not typical and Pillar has been treated more than fairly by Gibbons since their one incident. Gibby reminds me of my little league coach. Super nice guy but one time I ignored a sign and even though I scored on the play he got mad and benched me. It was just what he felt he had to do because I had crossed a line. It didn't linger between us at all. He even asked me to hand in the lineup card in the championship game later in the season.
  16. Yeah I like it too. I don't think he's a great strategical manager but so many of them are really bad that he's probably above average. More importantly, this team seems to operate pretty much drama free despite some strong personalities. In fact, it seems like there's been progressively less drama and rumor and innuendo through Gibbon's tenure. Part of that is probably due to some changes in team chemistry, part of that is simply due to winning but as near as anyone can really tell from the outside, he does seem to be a guy who manages these egos very well.
  17. FFS. Is that really going to be your take away?
  18. As someone who has read extensively about Gould and also read a lot of his correspondence, I would describe Gould as one of the most lucid, brilliant minds in music. "Not right in the head" is really off the mark.
  19. Calling him a hitting savant comes off a lot less derogatory than calling him mental. I'd stick with that if I were you.
  20. The baserunning by The Netherlands ends up costing them dearly. That really should be the story here. Never should have went to extras in the first place.
  21. Upton, Pompey and Zeke could all potentially open the season on the DL. Pretty crazy stuff.
  22. I think it was Vasgerian. Pretty dumb either way.
  23. Am I crazy of did the announcer just say that Tony Gwynn could have easily hit 40 homeruns if he had been willing to sacrifice some batting average?
  24. Just to clear the air a bit... Your post wasn't actually reported. The guys were just yanking your chain for promoting your own content. As long as the content is Jays related it's fine.
