I had a laugh when I noticed that NJH had quietly followed up on his joke about renaming my team.

It's been well documented that Mantle never got over the shoddy treatment he got from Dimagio and he made sure not to treat rookies like crap throughout his career because of it. So even that far back, a total bad ass like Mantle could see this kind of stuff for the ******** it is.

Wright's been around for awhile, if he saw a breach in clubhouse etiquette he probably did Syndergaard a favour by pointing it out. As a perceived team leader, Wright is expected, rightly or wrongly, to police the locker room no matter how silly that can look from the outside. Parnell throwing the sandwich in the trash though just seems like unnecesary piling on. Basically a veteran going out of his way to throw weight around and show up a rookie. Like does he honsetly think his two cents are really needed when the face of the franchise was already involved? No one deserves to get humiliated for a perfectly innocent mistake. We've all probably been there at some point in our lives and probably have no difficulty remembering how crummy it feels.

Yeah there aren't a lot of pictures of him smiling. I guess the fact that his smiles are relatively rare adds to the charm. -
I have two DLs. Not going to use a waiver though. I have a waiver priority (#5) just high enough that I'll probably never get to use it.

Eddie signed when he was a breath away from free agency last time and for a very reasonable cost. He's seems nothing if not amenable.

Getting Donaldson was huge in terms of reducing the teams utter dependance on those two.

Yeah the lineup they fielded yesterday was not the norm for this point in spring training. That was a special opening day lineup. You probably won't see a lienup with that many actual starters again until the last week of camp.

Freeman and Donaldson basically means you have the post Bautisata/Encarnacion offensive core already in place not to mention you get a couple of years where all four are under control and still in their prime. It's a bit of a pipe dream but you never know with the way John Hart has been going.

If he pitches like that, shouldn't he be in the minors?

If Sanchez tanks spring training (which he hasn't done at this point but flashed the potential to do today) it's probably for the best. He's still a work in progress who could use time in the minors. Sure that refrain may be getting old but he's still only about the same age as a college draftee. If he needs more time, he needs more time. No point in burning options for no gain in the interim.

I don't think that's what's being proposed. Cecil is very much the closer but in certain situations depending on matchups and leverage, setup and closer could be flipped.
