  1. He's had a weird upbringing. Super strict parents. As soon as he had one iota of freedom in life, he couldn't handle it at all and became a hardcore drug addict almost overnight. Dude has never developped any personal responsability, never really became an adult. Throw addiction into the mix and he's pretty much f***ed. He can't function on his own and probably never will. Texas did an excellent job of building a support system around him and getting him to maximize his talent. Most people in his situation just end up ODing to the general indifference of society. He's pretty lucky that he had a talent that made it profitable for others to invest in his well being.
  2. It's not just a question of do they need him but also can he even contribute if they do. Pretty good deal for him though. It will be good for his rehab to work with a club and at the end he either gets 2.5. million or the chance to explore other options.
  3. 2.5 million assures it's not a decision that will be taken lightly.
  4. Yeah seems like this has a pretty high probability of not turning out.
  5. Expect this kind of report after the trip: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-shares-details-sexual-relationship-dolphin-article-1.1825434 Dolphins don't mind if you dress like a dork.
  6. There's something about exposed socks that's just ewww. Nead a pant leg to cover that up. Some peope have an aversion to open toe footwear on men though and find socks the lesser evil. It's very much a pick your poision thing. Some people avoid the whole issue by never wearing shorts. Some people wear male Tom's but that makes you look like a child.
  7. Any kind of socks with shorts is problematic for me but some feel that's a lesser evil than wearing sandals in any circumstance. I feel like sandal tolerance is higher here in the East Coast where we have an actual coast with beaches and stuff.
  8. Twenty four is how many you got wrong? I only got a handful wrong when I did it.
  9. It doesn't tell you how good your score is? I don't remember the scale because it's been awhile. I only remember doing very well but not perfect. I though it included an evaluation.
  10. I'm not actually. Why else would he be with the Jays and not someone else? It's certainly not for the notoriety and the pitching environment.
  11. That's not an outrageous comment but it's pretty negative by AA standards, almost bitter.
  12. Here's a link if anyone wants to test their overall colour acuity: http://www.xrite.com/online-color-test-challenge
  13. When both me and my wife saw black and blue and my friend who is literally colour blind saw white and gold, I really had no doubts about the reality of the photo. It's been confirmed several times now.
  14. The only way I was able to see the white and gold illusion was by just keeping the very top of the photo on screen and it doesn't work with every version of the photo that's circulated. As soon as I take in the whole thing, I stop interpreting the blue as anything other than blue. The illusion is very weak for me. Apparently, it has something to do with the strength of the rod cell in your eye. My wife is one of the top wedding photographers in Canada. She's scored highest percentile in every colour acuity test imaginable. She simply cannot make herself see the white and gold. Her colour recognition is too good. As her second shooter, It's a relief that I also see the black and blue 99% of the time.
  15. Are you saying you still see white and gold even on the photoshop test?
  16. Law has consistently ranked Sanchez higher than anyone else from day one so if you truly consider Law's endorsment a kiss of death, you never should have been on the bandwagon in the first place
  17. You're mentally substracting blue from the black which is giving you gold. Sorry bud but you're not seeing the real colours.
  18. Photoshop test: http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/photoshop-data-blue-black-gold-white-is-actually-b-1688352412 I don't know if the XKCD comic is supposed to re-create the illusion in one of the images but I just see the black and blue as slightly lighter in the left image. http://xkcd.com/1492/
  19. Because that's the actual colour. You're mentally compensating for the perception of blue light.
  20. This was posted in another thread so I'll put it here. Video of Saunders discussing the injury: http://thefanaticsview.com/baseball/blue-jays-michael-saunders-speaks-on-tearing-his-meniscus-shagging-flyballs/
  21. Yes. lol. It wouldn't have been sort of funny otherwise.
  22. Well he actually still is a free agent. That's the extent of the "joke" if you want to call it that.
  23. There's a photo ITT. Field looks pretty bad.
