  1. I suppose the fact that they both came up with the Twins reinforces that.
  2. O.K. I totally misread this post. Sorry.
  3. Someone posted something ITT.
  4. I hadn't actually seen any footage of K. Vargas until today. Guy is beastly.
  5. If Reyes was going on the DL, they woulnd't have had to DFA Redmond to make room for Goins. He's day to day.
  6. I'm thinking Estrada might clear though. I'd rather have him in the AAA rotation than the bullpen but I'm unclear how realistic expecting him to clear is. He's not cheap which could help.
  7. One of Estrada/Hynes/Tolleson/Goins.
  8. Yeah I didn't realize that either. I guess this move isn't really about Redmond but about the need for an immediate fill in for Reyes. Redmond is merely the casualty.
  9. In which case Tolleson might still be needed to backup the OF and IF.
  10. If that's the case then why bother calling up Goins at all?
  11. With Goins in the mix, it means they can DFA Tolleson when Saunders comes back. Pillar has more than earned the right to stay on as the 4th OF but he can't back up all the positions the way Tolleson can so Goins will be needed.
  12. Rockie Mountain High?
  13. Yeah but you could also argue that it's all the more reason to keep Hendriks as a reliever. Hendriks looks like he might provide value in any role. Estrada on the other hand is kind of a square peg for this team. His flyball tendencies don't play well in short relief especially at Roger's Centre. All his value comes from his ability to be a serviceable starter. If you don't need him to make starts then you don't really need him at all.
  14. He's a lot more useful as a spot starter than a reliever actually. He'll provide Sanchez insurance tomorrow and maybe take over his spot if things go badly for Aaron again.
  15. Fair point. He's still a guy with options and no real track record of success and though with the emergence of Osuna and Castro, it seems like Loup could revert to his old loogy role to replace Hynes so... I still think that's a possibility. That being said Sanchez probably moves to the bullpen at some point too so you might see both Redmond and Hynes gone.
  16. Colt Hynes still has options and doesn't look so hot either. That's probably the best thing Redmond has going for him right now.

  18. Might as well be the pedant who mentions non-official rain outs.
  19. Two issues, don't know if they are related or independant. 1) Turf is kicking up an awful lot of that black crap (see picture from John Lott that I posted ITT). 2) Turf is really slow certainly slower than grass but traditionally turf surfaces are faster than grass. I'm not convinced that being slow is worse than being fast but a happy medium would be nice. Maybe less crap in the field would have this added benefit. Might just be something the players will have to get used to even if issue 1 is addressed.
  20. Don't make this about a mere difference of opinion. You're obnoxious.
  21. I don't know... Doesn't it seem like there's way too much of them?
  22. I think a lot of framing is just being quiet back there. Sudden, jerky movements are really bad for getting calls.
  23. Demoting Hynes and moving Loup into his role would seem like a pretty inconsequential move to me.
