1. I think post amputation Jaime Lannister has more keeper value than Jaime Garcia at this point.
2. Day game after night game and the pitcher likes to work with him. No brainer to use Navarro here. This was the perfect way to set up the rotation.
3. The worries for the most part aren't about whether they can cut it as a relievers. Most acknowledge that they very well might. Most of the debate centers around the relative merits of burning option year to have them in the MLB bullpen as opposed to just continuing to develop them as starters.
4. That's a stretch... We don't know that the people replacing Castro and Osuna wouldn't also be effective. Whether it was necessary to include them is still entirely debattable but at least it's working out and that's no doubt a good thing and it does somewhat vindicate the decision if not entirely settle the debate.
5. RosterResource.com says he does. http://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-toronto-blue-jays/
6. I think the team recognizes that it will be hard to justify keeping Tolleson on the team all season and that at that at some point, he will have to be let go, options be damned. Goins getting some time in the outfield this spring suggests that he is being groomed to take over the super-utility role in a post Tolleson world.
7. If Loup continues to struggle just swap him with Delabar who arguably should already be here.
8. I wonder if the Diamondback will sign him just to give themselves another excuse to not trade for Navarro. JPA basically has the Tuffy Gosewisch skill set but with more veteran presents.
9. Bizzaro line from Danks:

[TH=class: player first]Player[/TH] [TH]IP[/TH] [TH]H[/TH] [TH]R[/TH] [TH]ER[/TH] [TH]BB[/TH] [TH]IBB[/TH] [TH]K[/TH] [TH]E[/TH] [TH]GB[/TH] [TH]FB[/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH][/TH] [TH=class: last][/TH]

J. 10. I have the whole trash heap army going for me today, Desclafani, Wojo, Graveman, N. Martinez, D. Buchanan. Might (probably should) bench Buchanan tonight depending on how the rest goes.
11. What kind of velo was Castro getting in the poor weather?
12. Given that Castro was coming in for Dickey, it made sense to start with the fastball and force the hitter to adjust to the dramatic increase in velocity. I don't hate the call. Let's just give ARod credit. He looks to have more left in the tank than a lot of people (including me) expected.
13. I wonder how many claims were put in. I think a lot of people must have thought he was on someone's farm.
14. Fernandez, Bautista, Halladay, Stieb.
15. If you bought tickest to the Home Opener and your game got bumped to the end of the series and those who bought tickest to the 2nd game got to see the de-facto home opener you'd be pissed.
16. Beyond the obvious over reaction is there some egregious grammatical mistake I'm missing? I didn't go to school in English so some of the nuances and actual rules are lost on me.
17. I would love for Castro to come in as soon as Dickey starts with the usual derping. Good luck to hitters trying to adjust from Dickey to that kind of heat.
18. I expect a big bounce back defensively.
19. Yeah I thought the announcers would annoy me with their emphasis on Martin but as long as they are focusing on actual in game stuff like that, it's cool to have it pointed out. Much more interesting than most of the stuff they blather about.
20. If good beer is the priority. C'est What is close to the Rogers Centre and has a terrific selection.
21. I'm with you. I love this as a motivator but I'd probably prefer to give him the whole year off.
