    I like the caution being shown here. Hopefully this is how they avoid something truly serious.

    I'm not Greg Zaun.I don't think players should feel obligated to bottle all emotions nor do I think that players actually did that in his day and even before that. I do believe that there are certain times where letting your emotions getting the best of you can be detrimental to the team. There's a difference between say Grilli fist pumping and Lawrie throwing his helmet and getting his ass suspended. I don't endorse the entirity of Zaun's criticisms. I do believe that Stroman should cut it with all the crowing he does at opponents. I think that's going to start some s***.

    Yes and I think I explained why I think that relatively well. Look I hate Zaun as much as the next guy but just because he's insufferable doesn't mean everything he says is wrong. Hypocrical as hell sure but not necessarily wrong.

    I actually thought Zaun had a point. I hated the patronizing way he said it and all the waxing poetic about "back in my day" from a guy who retired in 2010 is pretty rich (you'd think he played in the 30s) but he's not wrong that Stroman is developing some bad habits. He's running the risk of getting ejected or starting a feud that could get a teammate injured with all his crowing. He would do well to cool it.

    Handsome T.J. House is pretty stellar through 3 starts. He did have that big scare in spring training but if that's not preventing him from making starts in AAA, I don't see why it should prevent him from starting in the majors.

    I'm always a little worried about Osuna breaking down but it's not unusual for him to have these fluctuations in velocity. His fastball chart shows that he's hit these kind of lows and even worse before. It would be nice however to see a spike fairly soon or this is going to get worrisome. Giving how poorly everything is going anyways, the team would want to be prudent. Shutting him down would feel a lot like punting the season but this might be one that you write off as a lost season in the first place.     Pearce is giving me serious Melky Cabrera year 1 vibes (another very popular signing at the time). Pearce does not move well at all. I'm thinking there's something fundamentally wrong which sucks because he would be an awesome addition to the team otherwise.

    It's been recapped elsewhere but basically got into it with Gary and then got into it with 02. Started because Spanky was upset at Gary calling him a pedophile (which wasn't exactly true). Gary dismissed a woman Spanky called attention to as jail bait. According to others she really wasn't THAT young looking. I was dealing with an angry baby (a litteral one not someone from this board) so I'm actually only giving you this second and third hand.

    I played this game for the first time on opening day. Nobody hit a homerun that day and the Jays lost apparently I cursed the entire season to boot.

    I had no idea there were rules around 1B gloves. I would have assumed you could wear one wherever you damn well pleased. What if a player for some bizzare masochistic reason wants to wear a catcher's mitt in the field? Would that be allowed?

    Do that many people really like him? I feel like there's plenty of skepticism. Arizona was still dumb to deal him for Shelby Miller though. His trade value at the time was worth more than that.

    In hindsight, Travis should have started the season on a MiLB rehab assignment. It was nice to have him on opening day but he could have used more time. I do think he'll come around sooner rather than later.

    I haven't followed the exchange but isn't every hill a hill to die on with Grant?

    It's true that the conversion to 2B has been rumoured from day one and it's a big stretch to think that the org wouldn't see the benefit of added versatility. He must be pretty bad but it doesn't seem like they gave him much of a chance to work on it either. He could never back up more than 2B in the infield but given the question marks around Travis, a AAAA 2B wouldn't be a bad thing to have for depth. He must be positively Refsnyder like in the field.
