I know it's spring training and the games don't mean anything but I love coming onto the board and seeing a Jays win. Makes me happy and hopeful. Hopefully it carries into the season.
I have been using firefox but it's also acting up on my phone to the point where I can't access any of the treads. It keeps saying that the Site is offline
I think Ohtani is doing the smart thing. He has 29 choices whereas most free agents have a handful. Talk to them all and then make a decision. Smart move.
I did too. I meant if they are going to report that someone who played for the Twins minor league affiliate signed a minor league contract with the Marlins, I feel like a death of a former major league player is news too.
I'd have no problem with it. What's the difference between him doing that and him throwing side sessions? I'm not saying to do it but if that's what it takes to get a leg up on him I have no problem with him doing it. He did it in Japan.
That's why I suggested allowing him to play the field too. Perhaps have a 6 starting pitchers (Otani) being one but skipping him occasionally and allowing him to hit and play the field a few times a week. The media is reporting that he wants to hit and is talking about making him a DH but I haven't read one report about a team letting him play the field and pitch. Perhaps that's something we could offer him to set us apart.
The first 2 should have happened anyway. Other than maybe Stieb who is the most dominate pitcher in Jays history? Who thinks the Hall of Fame comes calling? He was a great pitcher.
I've only been to a handful of Phillies games but I'm lucky that one of them Doc pitched a great game. I'm not a Phillies Phan but Doc is one of my favorite Jays players ever and was pumped to see him pitch just once.
I don't think Pentecost will be taken. Too many injuries and old for the level he was on with no pure position. I could see a team that will suck next year take a chance on Rowdy. He has monster raw power.
I was just going to post this. Nunez and Watson seem like good choices but I'm not confident Bruce can repeat his last year. That being said we are thin in the outfield so who knows. This front office seems to like him a lot.
I just got in from handing out candy. We had peanut butter cups, milky ways, snickers, and lollipops. It makes me kinda bummed that the street I live on in Philly only gets like 2 dozen trick or treaters and 2 streets over there are hundreds.
Former Jays farmhand Michael Crouse was voted the independent Atlantic League defensive player of the year. He even got a "Web Gems" on Sportscenter robbing former Jays farmhand KC Hobson of a homerun.
I'd think for the teams that we have a long tenured relationship with it might be worth it. It would take the burden of trying to live below the poverty line, and give the organization better control over their assets. It might be worth investigating.
