  1. I wonder how much it would cost for the Jays to build a dormitory like building for at least their low level minor league players. Most of the teams are in areas that are fairly inexpensive and they could provide housing, proper diet, and training facilities all in one place where they could be monitored by the coaching staff.
  2. I would. Let them be around the big guys for a few weeks before sending them down to the minor league side.
  3. Hurl would slide into first because of the dramatics.
  4. Has anyone had any issues with this site loading slowly, or getting the "this site is offline" page? And if you refresh it makes the posts smaller?
  5. I was sad all weekend. This morning I was overcome with joy to see that it's back up! Yay!
  6. Spank's been rolling since 1pm yesterday. Go to bed. We need your shrug guys ready to go for tomorrow!
  7. I think a bad AL team would take a chance on him as they can cycle him through DH as well. In the past 7 or so years only 5 first basemen have been selected and most were returned, but I know nothing about the profiles of the players selected.
  8. I think the alternative Jerseys could be fun and reminds me of when I played Rec league when I was a kid. We all had our nicknames on the back of our shirts. If it's a charity thing than more power to them.
  9. I'd think he'd be at least thinking about it. He's very confident in himself and I couldn't see him staying around to embarrass himself if he is a shell of his former self.
  10. Because of the GM background I believe that Shatkins picked two guys they believe in.
  11. I agree. I don't think we need to completely tank in order to build for the future. If time and resources are put into scouting/data interpretation and development I don't think we necessarily need a ton of top 10 picks to build for the future.
  12. There are minor league portions where all you have to do is move them up a level to keep them but I think if they are in AA or above they must be on the major league roster. Right?
  13. Former prospect Dickie Joe Thon signs with the Atlantic League Sugar Land Skeeters.
  14. I'm just saying that the level is between AA and AAA and they are doing well. Also, my home town county has a league so I enjoy following the league.
  15. Former Jays prospects Kevin Ahrens and Michael Crouse were Atlantic League (Independent) all-stars.
  16. Also, I think many on here are thinking about the picks that sign huge bonuses but the majority of minor leaguers make peanuts until they make it to AA. Make healthy meals available in the clubhouse so you get maximum return on your investment (pick and salary).
  17. Can't Gary and Hurl hug it out as long as it's agreed upon that there is to be no reach arounds?
  18. Trying to administer a pro league to be fair is so difficult. In the NBA you have the grouping of "super teams" with a bunch of stars willing to sacrifice money, and in baseball you have "competitive balance" picks where small market teams are just given draft picks because they are deemed small markets and need these extra picks to be competitive.
  19. Is there enough of a difference to warrant an upgrade from OOTP17?
  20. No. Just drag queens, Lady Gaga, and Kathy Griffin.
  21. Likelihood D.J. Davis is cut free?
  22. That lineup may be the worst Jays line up in the last 20 years.
