    I could see Shatkins going hard after Otani. Pitcher, decent hitter, 5th outfielder.

    I don't think I'd do more than 2 years. He hasn't been that great of a player and he isn't good defensively.

    The first 2 should have happened anyway. Other than maybe Stieb who is the most dominate pitcher in Jays history? Who thinks the Hall of Fame comes calling? He was a great pitcher.

    I've only been to a handful of Phillies games but I'm lucky that one of them Doc pitched a great game. I'm not a Phillies Phan but Doc is one of my favorite Jays players ever and was pumped to see him pitch just once.

    I don't think Pentecost will be taken. Too many injuries and old for the level he was on with no pure position. I could see a team that will suck next year take a chance on Rowdy. He has monster raw power.

    I was just going to post this. Nunez and Watson seem like good choices but I'm not confident Bruce can repeat his last year. That being said we are thin in the outfield so who knows. This front office seems to like him a lot.

    I just got in from handing out candy. We had peanut butter cups, milky ways, snickers, and lollipops. It makes me kinda bummed that the street I live on in Philly only gets like 2 dozen trick or treaters and 2 streets over there are hundreds.

    He looks like he could be a good option as a super utility guy who could slide over to 2nd when Travis gets hurt.

    Former Jays farmhand Michael Crouse was voted the independent Atlantic League defensive player of the year. He even got a "Web Gems" on Sportscenter robbing former Jays farmhand KC Hobson of a homerun.

    Do the Jays own any of their teams? Would it make sense?

    I'd think for the teams that we have a long tenured relationship with it might be worth it. It would take the burden of trying to live below the poverty line, and give the organization better control over their assets. It might be worth investigating.

    I wonder how much it would cost for the Jays to build a dormitory like building for at least their low level minor league players. Most of the teams are in areas that are fairly inexpensive and they could provide housing, proper diet, and training facilities all in one place where they could be monitored by the coaching staff.

    I would. Let them be around the big guys for a few weeks before sending them down to the minor league side.

    I think a bad AL team would take a chance on him as they can cycle him through DH as well. In the past 7 or so years only 5 first basemen have been selected and most were returned, but I know nothing about the profiles of the players selected.

    I think the alternative Jerseys could be fun and reminds me of when I played Rec league when I was a kid. We all had our nicknames on the back of our shirts. If it's a charity thing than more power to them.

    I'd think he'd be at least thinking about it. He's very confident in himself and I couldn't see him staying around to embarrass himself if he is a shell of his former self.

    Because of the GM background I believe that Shatkins picked two guys they believe in.

    I agree. I don't think we need to completely tank in order to build for the future. If time and resources are put into scouting/data interpretation and development I don't think we necessarily need a ton of top 10 picks to build for the future.

    There are minor league portions where all you have to do is move them up a level to keep them but I think if they are in AA or above they must be on the major league roster. Right?
