  1. Definitely up in the air right now but I think we will probably be buyers because the AL is so horrendous. We are just 2.5 games out of WC3 and 3 games out of WC2.
  2. Nope, deferrals don't matter because they closed all the loopholes. They don't help smaller markets. Don't help bigger markets either.
  3. Deferrals don't matter whatsoever because they have closed off every single loophole through the net present value calculation and by making teams literally set aside that money in escrow accounts. It's just a way for players to avoid paying high state taxes which in turn levels the playing field for those teams.
  4. Probably just a ploy by the owners to get idiot fans who don't understand the deferral system on their side. This would be very bad for the Blue Jays and other teams who reside in high tax areas.
  5. I'm definitely not reading all of that but here is Jeff Hoffman by the numbers: 7th inning: .795 OPS against 8th inning: .694 9th inning: .718 So based on your theory that certain players perform better or worse depending on the inning, it would appear that the lights simply aren’t bright enough for Hoff in the 7th. He does much better in the 9th, when the lights are at their brightest. The 8th inning, however, apparently provides a medium level of brightness that creates juuuust the right amount of pressure for him, allowing him to perform at his absolute best. So we agree on using him in the 8th inning but where I disagree strongly is on using him in the 7th. There’s clearly not enough pressure. He’s too relaxed out there and he's not taking it seriously. He's probably thinking about dinner.
  6. Not surprised you don’t care about this young man’s health (or life) moving forward. You’ve always had questionable morals (usually involving truthfulness and/or courage). What’s shocking is that you said we still have World Series aspirations after subjecting us to your daily barrage of doomer ********.
  7. His stuff was electric today. He even hit 99 with his fastball. I do worry about his innings though. He's turning into quite the asset and we want him healthy for next year. Has never thrown more than 10 innings in any season since he debuted in pro ball 4 years ago.
  8. The Yankees have lost 7 in a row. Too bad we completely s*** the bed last week.
  9. Yeah he is one big dude. Listed at 6'1'' and 232 pounds and looks to be every bit of that.
  10. VLADDY WITH AN EXTRA BASE HIT* IT'S A CANADA DAY MIRACLE *Ignore that it was a hustle double
  11. Feels like his arm is going to fall off at this rate. He's thrown about 20 innings of pro ball across 5 seasons prior to this. Maybe they can just keep using him as a bulk pitcher until the trade deadline.
  12. He had 7 Ks in 6 innings. How many would he need to have before you didn’t consider it a “lot of contact”?
  13. Bo’s 3B defense has been solid tonight and close to league average on the year. I tried telling everyone this would happen when he signed with the Mets but no one would listen. 3B is just easier than SS. Keep reading if you want to learn more ball.
  14. Pinango going 2 for 4 with the most spectacularly bad OF defense you've ever seen. I wish they would just DH him and put Springer in LF.
  15. Would probably be more enjoyable than this 2026 season
  16. Yesavage vs. Manaea Gausman vs. McLean Corbin vs. Peralta
  17. He's got a 5.22 FIP for them and he's K-ing 5 per 9. If you think he's dealing then you must love what Patrick Corbin is doing.
  18. Quite possibly the biggest mental midget in sports
  19. Well if you are going to fancy yourself as a bullpen expert I think it's fair to remind the board how you were furious over us acquiring Varland while the Yanks got Bednar, Doval and a Rockies reliever. And I am sorry that my jokes aren't landing. I did win Poster of the Year so they do work for some. But I have been testing some new material at my local dive at open mic night. Not quite ready to debut it yet on the board but when I do I think you are going to love it. Trust me.
