  1. A lot of lefties just can't hit LHP. It was one AB but Pinango's AB against Tim Hill was really really bad. As bad as they've been, Schneider and Sosa are probably better against LHP. So I don't mind the platoons but I wish we had better short side platoon partners.
  2. Lefty killers Straw, Sosa and Schneider all in the lineup today Good luck Carlos Rodon
  3. Omg how did I not come up with Heinewoman?? So much better than Hiney-man
  4. Getting Kirk and Bieber back will be HUGE That's a 5 WAR All-Star level player and a 3 WAR #3 SP It has ramifications down the roster as well. Valenzuela goes from acceptable starter to a damn fine backup. Miles goes from bulk pitcher to long man and having a real SP in that #5 spot saves the bullpen some innings.
  5. No doubt that the team has been ass so far this year. But if the rotation can stay healthy, it's not hard to imagine the team making a run with Cease, Gausman, Yesavage, and Bieber. Come playoff time that rotation could carry us pretty far.
  6. Yesavage is such a stud. We needed that game in the worst way and he delivered. The guy has balls of steel to perform in the postseason as a rookie like he did and he stepped up in another big game last night. Most were expecting him to take a step back this year because the league would get used to him and he couldn't possibly keep this up but so far he's been even better. We might have a Top 10 SP on our hands. Maybe Top 5?
  7. Who is Jesús Schlittler? Is he a prospect from Curacao or something?
  8. He's a weird player. The glass half full take is that he's okay at everything and if you add it all up he's an average player. You can also dream on a late breakout due to his physical tools/exit velos. But the glass half empty take is that he's extremely mid at everything and doesn't have one thing that he actually does well. So you add it all up and he's subpar. But you're right, Lukes is probably better because of his defense and we could really use a 2B/LF type that can bat right-handed. A guy like that is basically free at the deadline so if the Jays were to offer up a strong sided platoon guy like Sanchez or Lukes surely they could get one.
  9. Yes the AL Central is so trash that it is possible to sell, make the playoffs, and then get bounced early. Let's not follow that route.
  10. If the current pattern holds (and things should get better) they will definitely be buyers.
  11. Nobody wants to hear it, but the team is actually playing a bit better. We’re just 3-4 in the last 7, but all 4 losses were by one run, and the offense has looked much more alive against the Rays and Yankees. The division is probably gone, but WC3 will be easy to make. If we can avoid further injury, there’s still plenty of time to turn this around.
  12. Yeah that was a tough loss but we played pretty well outside of one relief appearance (aided by Jizz's BS home run) and Springer's AB. That was by far the worst pitching matchup for us and the Yanks got lucky to skate by. We will get them tomorrow with Cease on the hill.
  13. At 5-5 over our last 10 games we are one of the hottest teams in the AL! Yankees are one of the coldest at 3-7.
  14. Last year on May 18 we had a SLG+ of 94. We just have a bunch of slow starters in the lineup who can't handle cold Spring weather. Lucky for us the weather is HOT in NYY and I expect the bats to follow. Vlad (aka the King of New York) especially.
  15. Cannot wait to watch Yesavage vs. Ben Rice in Game 3 Rice couldn't tell you the difference between Yesavage's splitter and his own a$$hole lmao
  16. Game 1: I’m kind of worried about Corbin tonight. He's got 2 K's through his last two starts combined. But the Yanks have a lot of lefty bats so hopefully that helps him get through 5. Game 2 & 3: Solid pitching matchups. Game 4: I actually like a Jays bullpen game against Rodon but it will be important for the previous starters to eat some innings to make sure they are fresh for that game. So tonight is probably our toughest pitching matchup, but we are catching the Yankees at a good time since they’ve lost 7 of their last 9 and the Mets taxed their bullpen pretty hard the last couple games. On the flip side, our pitching is really starting to settle in. Our bats broke out at about this time last year, so hopefully they follow suit this year and the Jays take 3 of these games.
